Not sure I would encourage, anyone to get a heat pump designed to run at 50 degs. Without knowing they will need to fit bigger radiators than those that are installed by octopus to make the system cost effective to run

Maxa i32V5 6kW ASHP (heat and cooling)
6.5kW PV
13.5kW GivEnergy AIO Battery.

Even getting a proposal would be good. I am still waiting. I take what @johnmo says but if they stay with my original quote ( so long ago I barely remember) All I need is a few rad changes upstairs and I can turn down the temp and start asking questions of the forum as to best run it. 😊 .

Hi @jancold,

I haven't read all your posts but is it the area you are in that's causing problems with octopus?

I only started the journey with octopus in July and just had the install last week.

@toodles,

Octopus airways seen to have some or other offer on. If it's not announced you can usually get a substantial discount emailing your assigned heat pump team member.

@njt I had a survey carried out by Octopus Energy two years ago but they told me that the work was ‘out of scope’ at that time; later, they declined to quote due to the amount of unusual requirements. I had a Daikin 8 kW Monobloc ASHP fitted in February ‘23 along with a Sunamp Thermino ePV210 unit for the DHW and have been very pleased with the outcome. Regards, Toodles.

Hi @toodles

Yes I've caught some of your posts over the last few weeks as I've had the exact same heat pump fitted last week.

I remembered you posted an initial set up to someone to get them started but I haven't been able to find the post since.

I'm currently trawling through YouTube trying my head around the MMI.

@njt Have Fun! Adam Chapman has produced several Heat Geek presentations on the setting up of the MMI. Homely takes care of it all for me these days. Regards, Toodles.

@njt I also started at the end of July but a resurvey 10 days ago, something to do with the pipe drop between tank and outside. I'm not getting any feedback except "we are very busy just now" . I'm in Sidmouth if that is a problem area?

@johnmo how important is the pipework? Mine comes of the boiler at 22mm then branches off to upstairs radiators in 15mm and downstairs in 15mm. No surveyor has shown the slightest interest beyond seeing 15mm connection to the radiators.

@jancold

It's just some areas are taking longer than others according to the dedicated heat pump team member I was in contact with over email throughout.

Are you saying they are just not responding to your emails?

@jancold They may well have spotted that the feed is in 22mm and 15mm to the radiators and deduced that there were no silly reductions in the bore between them. Though I suppose not many of us would be keen on lots of flooring being lifted to ascertain this for sure. Regards, Toodles.
