I see that OE are introducing a much improved Cosy tariff (in my opinion anyway!) on first July, there are going to be three ‘dips’ per day now which offers a more even distribution of charge discharge times for some of us. I looked at thei site but they don’t appear to have quite completed the details as the wording mentions a ‘triple dip’ but the tariff details show just two. I note the rate has dropped now, this might be worth further examination I feel - I’m currently on Agile. Regards, Toodles.

Interesting.

A triple dip might well extend the range of houses for which batch heating (with an oversized pump run at a higher than optimum temperature) makes economic sense ( compared to slow and continuous), without sacrificing comfort too much. One could play all sorts of games with this and a homely to optimise schedule according to tariff.

I agree, this does seem to be an overall improvement: not only is there an extra 'dip' but all the dips are 'deeper' and the peak is less high compared to the standard day rate. Shifting usage to the Cosy times will be even cheaper than the standard flat-rate tariff, but I think that Agile will still be cheapest overall most days.

@steve81uk I am going to find out soon! I feel that should something happen to me (a hospital visit or two in the near future may happen) at least SWMBO will not have to tackle the app to optimise things day to day. Peace of mind may be worth as much as possible Agile plunges - we will see! We will be on Cosy MK11 from July 1st (but can always revert later of course!😉). Regards, Toodles.

@steve81uk Another aspect of the timings on Cosy MK11 is that some of the ‘charging time is out of solar generation times - this means charging the battery can be carried out on grid power allowing what solar power is generated (or produced) to be exported more easily at 15p.per kWh. At present, much of the cheapest Agile HH’s occur during solar generating hours thus negating cheaper charging opportunities; charge @11p., export @15p. Not that I am greedy of course! During winter, the 3 dips should provide sufficient hours to keep battery levels up with enough capacity to power ASHP plus the rest of domestic needs without resorting to using any grid outside of the 3 dips. So you can still have an export tariff when your on cosy Mk1 or Mk2 ?

@irmartini Indeed you can, Yes! I have been on the fixed export for some time and have kept it throughout several tariff changes from Agile to Cosy back to Agile and now Cosy MK11. Regards, Mike

To have a smart meter that actually worked and could communicate with the outside world. Plenty of good tariffs to use but I am limited to E7 or a standard tariff.

Communication black spot, BG tried, Octopus tried, neither could get the meter to talk with the outside world.
