Mains water pressure
when my air source heat pump was installed I think the cold water was no longer fed from a tank in the loft but fed directly from the mains. Does that make sense?
It now makes a lot of noise when the cold tap turns on and toilets flush, washing machine fills etc. As it turns off there is then a large clunk noise.
any thoughts how to solve this?
thanks
Check to see if you have a loose pipe where you hear the clunk you speak of. It’s very likely a result of the plumbing being diverted.
Retrofitted 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan to new radiators commissioned November 2021.
14 x 500w Monocrystalline solar panels.
2 ESS Smile G3 10.1 batteries.
ESS Smile G3 5kw inverter.
Thanks will do.
did anyone else find the system is over-pressured since the ASHP was installed?
Hi @bridgetjohn
Yes ! We had a vented system prior to the ASHP, we now have an unvented system, so mains pressure in all the hot and cold taps. We have 2 loos, one is same as ever, the other sends a thud down the pipework when the flow shuts off. It's been suggested that the answer is to fit a different valve in that loo: a Thomas Dudley Hydroflow bottom entry ball valve !! It's been on my list of 'to do' items for months, meanwhile I've got used to it. Thanks for reminding me.
