@toodles I've watched a fair few Heat Geek videos and there's plenty of good information there. I believe that delivering the required heat energy via micropore should be possible with a limiting factor being the emitter sizes (if they're not changed). At the back of my mind, though, I'm thinking that since the big emitters are furthest away from the boiler (assuming, for now, would be replaced by a PHE) with some narrow pipework en-route, that radiator balancing will be tricky. The circulation pump will need significant head that won't be necessary on the upstairs rads, for example.
@bontwoody Thanks for the offer but I'm in North Buckinghamshire. Hopefully I can find closer examples 🙂 .
@ianmk13 There are a few contributors on this group who will be able to provide guidance on pump capacities but it sounds as though the emitters nearest the heat source will need the most throttling back to ensure a goodly amount of heat remains in the microbore pipes when it reaches the nether regions of your system. Regards, Toodles.

@editor I sent an email to these people a few months back - no reply, I wrote again a few weeks ago but still have not heard back from them as yet. Does anyone know whether this idea is still active please? Regards, Toodles.

@toodles I saw a post somewhere a fortnight ago that looked like it was full steam ahead. So not sure why they're not replying. Maybe they're still trying to figure things out. I can imagine there must be challenges to get this up and running smoothly, satisfying all the stakeholders.

@editor Fine, the chap was from Fishguard, I think he was more interested in the solar panels and battery than the heat pump, though I did my best to persuade him 🙂

@bontwoody Perhaps I’ll give them a little longer to respond and then send another email via their website. Toodles.

@bontwoody I used the website link to contact them for further details; I don’t wish to plunge right in without some more information about vetting and security first. No reply as yet though. Toodles.

@toodles @editor, from an end user's perspective I can also confirm that this scheme is still operating. As an aspiring upgrader to an ASHP, I visited an ASHP owner in London at the weekend who had kindly opened up his house to show it off and discuss his experiences (he had two lots of 4 people visiting in one day). I found it a very valuable experience, and both the owner and the visitors were all enthusiastic and there was plenty of sharing of related information (e.g. about Agile, measuring and monitoring tools, control automation etc). I don't know why they're not getting back to you @toodles in relation to you possibly showing off your system, but the way it worked for me was I signed up maybe a couple of months ago to express interest in seeing two properties that were listed nearby. At that time there were no scheduled visit slots, but when they were offered by one of the owners last week, I received an automated email informing me and allowing me to sign up to a visit.
@jamesw All resolved now, I was contacted by Rob just this morning. My details are now viewable and I await applications to view. Just look for Earley, Reading. Regards, Toodles.
