@bea1060 thank you for your response. We have several outstanding issues with them, contacting GHG team is a good idea, not one i had on my list. Thank you

CeeBee,

The important thing is to take photo's and keep a record of all correspondence.

I am assuming that they are MCS certified, though I could not see any obvious mention on their website. You should be able to raise your problems with MCS and also HIES to whom they do claim to be accredited according to their website.

You could also have a word with the journalist Anna Tims, who champions peoples complaints against disreputable companies.

Best of luck resolving your problems.

@derek-m Thank you very much that is helpful.

The first complaint I have lodged is on the Which? feedback forum, they have been very good and said they will make FDG aware of our complaint. They (FDG) have now emailed my partner to say they have a new complaints team(?!) who will now deal with this, so we will see what happens now before I make further complaints. Interestingly in his first response he is still saying its partly the fault of our electrician, it really isn't 🙁

I'll keep you updated.

@ceebee, Derek’s point is a valid one. HIES are, from what I’ve heard, excellent in dealing with such matters, provided your insurance is with them. But it seems you’re making headway, so let us know how this all plays out.

On a related note, would you like to write a review of your ASHP for the reviews section of this is? If yes, please DM me.

Applicable to Scotland only, I found that the Energy Saving Trust, which provides information and grants for renewables has a Find and Installer Tool. Anyone who has taken out a grant, must submit a review as a condition of the funding, so there's quite a good collection of reviews here! https://rif.est.org.uk/ This applies to any renewable heating options, not just ASHP.

Sorry, I got this wrong. The reviews are indeed UK-wide, but I was re-directed to them from the Home Energy Scotland website.

Has anyone one used the installer Greener Energy Group in Scotland? It was one of the installers we first contacted. Seems to be a big company with lots of good reviews on Trust Pilot but there are some niggling alarm bells in the back of my kind. Wish I could make a decision!!

@bea1060 before I say anything more can you please identify who the 'we' is that you refer to? Are you a customer or are you associated with the installer? Thanks.

@jennyross, you need to be 100% convinced. I’m not familiar with your installers, but I would recommend looking at reports/reviews of after sales support. Also, if they’re MCS approved, try to find out whether they use HEIS as their insurer. This is a guarantee policy in case something goes wrong with the installation.

@bea1060 thank you.

I guess as this thread is about installers,  and I feel as though I have done research on ASHPs until it’s coming out of my ears, my query is really around how to judge installers.

I feel as though I need a check list or a set of criteria which an installer needs to pass 100% in order for me to enter a contract with them 😌
