My last attempted house purchase went terminally wrong pre-exchange, so on to the next one.

The new candidate has a new-ish oil boiler, but an old-style open vented water system. I’m thinking of updating to a pressurised system, but would want the cylinder to be both ASHP-ready and electrically heated via a solar diverter if we fit panels. I’m assuming we’d need a cylinder with a high-efficiency coil like the gledhill StainlessLite Plus HP models.

Question is do these high-efficiency tanks still work with conventional higher-temperature boilers? I can’t see why not in principle.

Yes Neil, that’s should be absolutely fine - high efficiency tanks and boilers tend to typically work OK.
