ASHP and Solar Panel retrofit under the HUG 2 scheme
@Toodles Indeed. I'm lucky to have the ability to install my own CE systems (not Gas boilers), Electrical work (Part P aside), and general building due to buying some old properties in the past. ASHP are new to me in terms of 'dedicated' systems. Although I do have a little experience with HVAC. It's just a case of familiarisation of heat pump cylinders, buffer tanks and so forth and transferring my CE knowledge to Heat Pump technology.
@ianmk13 From my efforts so far, no one appears to have a spec, a plan, or to be honest any idea of the schedule. I'm currently at the state of awaiting approval by a formative signature on a piece of paper. Afterwhich, I imagine I have to commit. Its at that point I'm hoping to establish what spec I'm having, the exact equipment being installed, and more importantly how they're going to pipe the flow and return from the HP to the Cylinder.
Finally, the install is complete.
Heap Pump is a Grant Aerona 3 6.5KW (so uses the Grant propriety controller)
What I know so far:
It's a Chofu HP with restrictions that requires Modbus to access.
It heats up and warms the house
End.
What I'd like to know:
How to fully use the full potential of the system and not rely on the basic settings of the controller
Understand the restrictions Grant appear to have implemented
Get more heat for less money
Not get bogged down in computer protocols to achieve the above
