I could do you a video of these organic heat-pumps.
Ideal for a "bee role"...
They emit a low hum, and never freeze in winter.-- Attachment is not available --
Yes, but when they go wrong things get really sticky. Definitely a heat source with a sting in the tail....
Sorry, I'll get my coat. Taxi, please.

Hi, having lot of vibration from my wall mounted heat pump. In cold weather especially it's as if whole house vibrating. Anything to help this noise as I'm light sleeper. Moving to ground would be very costly I'm told. Are them rubber washers correct or should I have more. Bracket on wall has no rubber.
Thanks for any help.
@newhouse87, first prize would definitely be getting that unit on the ground and detached from the wall. That's probably, as you've identified, what's causing the reverberations when the heat pump kicks in. I'll defer this to some installers that may have some practical advice.

Does not look ideal!
Simplest way could be to build a base e.g. from blockwork. Mass fill with concrete. Use standard rubber feet etc.
Completely remove from wall. But should be possible to achieve without changing pipework.
Listed Grade 2 building with large modern extension.

Had thought about building up to it, that way no need to rewire or plumb. Heard putting more weight on unit could help like few 4 inch blocks.

Cheers, yeah that was my nuclear option to build pad up to it. Probably job for next year now.
Was it poor installation?
@newhouse87 I'm not an installer. But looks a strange option. No idea why they went for that? Is there danger of flooding so wanted it off ground? But a base would always seem a better option if wanting it raised - hardly difficult if thought about pre-install especially.
As a matter of interest... how far off the wall is it? Vs installer recommendations? I think generally recommendation is 300mm?

We recently touched on this topic in a podcast, and all the installers agreed that they try to avoid mounting heat pumps on building walls for exactly this reason. Ground installation is much more stable and effective. Given that you have the ground space available, it seems strange that they would choose to mount it on the wall.

Footpaths weren't in when installing so done handy option i think. It's leaning forward too which I don't like. I'm going to add weight to it first to see does it dampen noise. Il check when home distance from wall.

They took easy option, I didn't think about noise at the time. Base up to it il do next year idsay.

230mm from wall.
I'm not sure of your make/model? Might be worth a check of installation instructions.
I assume brackets are official ashp ones? So maybe the heatpump should have been installed as far as possible away from wall which (from looks) would have added 50mm or so?
Possibly a bit nitpicking as maybe makes little difference in reality? But if you end up involving installer it could be added to list!
