The city of York is offering grant-funded improvements for low income households through our Home Upgrade Grant (HUG).

The following types of energy efficiency measures are available:

  • loft insulation and draft proofing
  • cavity wall insulation
  • attic room insulation
  • PV solar panels
  • air source heat pumps (available for homes which are not connected to gas or which don’t have central heating)

Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 – City of York Council
The Home Upgrade Grant aims to help those homes not using mains gas to heat the home to become more energy efficient and save money and energy.
