Selling second hand heat pump
Does anyone know whether there's a market yet for second hand ASHPs (with water cylinder)? And how much value they retain when sold second hand (given that any warranty won't travel with it)? Mine is 14 months old, in excellent condition, and I'm trying to find out whether there are any particular avenues (companies, groups, message boards, etc) that would be good to advertise. Thanks.

Why are you selling it and what make and model is it?
I'm selling it because, although the heat pump and cylinder are fine, the installation unfortunately isn't. It's a Midea Monobloc 10kW.
Why not get the installation fixed, it usually does not take much to get a reasonable outcome?Posted by: @AnonymousI'm selling it because, although the heat pump and cylinder are fine, the installation unfortunately isn't. It's a Midea Monobloc 10kW.

Ebay and Facebook marketplace are the best outlets. Stuff the package on there for £500 start and you'll sell it. Expect it to make around £1500 (imho) - I've spent the last 12 months picking up new/unused parts for my install and I wouldn't pay more than that for a pile of used bits without a warranty.
Off grid on the isle of purbeck
2.4kW solar, 15kWh Seplos Mason, Outback power systems 3kW inverter/charger, solid fuel heating with air/air for shoulder months, 10 acres of heathland/woods.
My wife’s house: 1946 3 bed end of terrace in Somerset, ASHP with rads + UFH, triple glazed, retrofit IWI in troublesome rooms, small rear extension.
@jeff Reading your replies on the post, if, as you say, your radiators are correctly seized, knowing the current installation standard and recommendations, I would not expect there to be more than 1 1/2 days work to correct your system, which should achieve a saving over a like for like gas installation of at least 30%. They work best running 27-7 when the heat is required, but need to be controlled properly. You can turn them down to a low temperature, which will save a considerable amount. It is not a gas boiler and should not be treated like one.
It appears that you have been very badly let down by the industry.

This isn’t my install.
I was just posting a link to the thread so you could see the background in case it helped.
It is @zoomuno
@jeff sorry 😥

Thanks, @heacol Yes, it looks as though I have been very badly let down (fleeced) by one installer. I had a full new central heating system installed (so pipework throughout the house). Amongst other things, a different plumber has told me the pipe size is too small, affecting flow rate and making running costs much higher. I'm very ill (long term) and after a year of trying have nothing left to fight this with, so am looking into cutting my (unfortutely significant) costs and starting again. If I do back to a gas boiler, I guess at least I know what I'm working with!
