Seeking help please. I have the wifi interface (MAC-567IF-E)installed and connected to power. It is also connected to my internet and I can find it and identify it in my list of devices. Within the MELcloud app it tells me the interface requires a firmware update. I go through the process of updating the firmware but it simply goes through cycles where fails and attempts again only stating 1 of 1 file has downloaded. Different sequences of lights flashing, eventually including the ‘err’ light before it tries again.
Anybody clued in re this app can tell me where I might be going wrong please? I expect to use the app to control the system very rarely but I would like to get performance related data from MELcloud.
Thanks in advance.

I had this (firmwate update) but it went through OK. Have you tried doing it through the app on different devices?
Still fails. The app states, “If the fw update does not work please contact your local branch as soon as possible for further support.” Anybody know what is meant by or who/what is my ‘local branch’? The fw update is described as ‘essential’ but I can’t make it work. Stuck for ideas now.

@morgan I dont have Melcloud, but I do have the midea app. I have to say its pretty flakey. Sometimes it doesn't work for days, and then its fine again for weeks. I think this is just an issue we are going to have
12kW Midea ASHP - 8.4kw solar - 29kWh batteries
262m2 house in Hampshire
Current weather compensation: 47@-2 and 31@17
My current performance can be found - HERE
Heat pump calculator spreadsheet - HERE
I’ve read that elsewhere. I will need to find another method to update then because I think it’s the Mitsubishi interface that requires the fw update. At least I think that’s what Melcloud is telling me. Kev managed to see it through but it’s justrating my efforts. First world problems but as I have the kit I’d like it to work.

Anybody fancy hazarding a guess as to why/how my return temp’ exceeds the flow temp’? Doesn’t seem right to me.
To be honest this Melcloud seems more trouble than it’s worth. I only wanted it because I thought I could more easily and closely examine reports and view precise details etc via graphs. Not sure the app isn’t more of a hinderance I can do without.

Hi Morgan,
Looking at the graph, it would appear to be when the heating stops during hot water production. Was the MELCloud installed with the ASHP, or is it an add on?
Hi Derek. Hadn’t considered that re the water heating. Nice one.
The Mitsubishi MAC-567IF-E interface was installed with the ASHP. Yesterday I connected that to my broadband, downloaded the Melcloud app and here we are.

Different approach to water heating and a different effect. Mine seems to increase the flow and return temps sensed for a short time. I wonder if it's down to where the sensors are? I already know mine aren't reading properly.
No idea Kev and to be honest I’m wondering if I can do without. I have no need nor desire to control the system via the app, certainly not at the moment, although it might become useful in the future when I consider it safe to indulge myself in my passion for long and far away dive trips. For the moment I only want reports and I see by the apps’ own admission they aren’t ‘accurate’.

Yes Kev, I suspect that you are correct in that it depends where the sensors have been located. They should be measuring the flow and return water to the heat emitters, but not to the DHW cylinder.
Thinking about installing a heat pump but unsure where to start? Already have one but it’s not performing as expected? Or are you locked in a frustrating dispute with an installer or manufacturer? We’re here to help.
