Free app: run the immersion / heat pump from Growatt battery & solar surplus – no Home Assistant
Hi all,
Full disclosure: I'm the developer; it's a free beta and there's nothing to sell.
I built a small web app to tie a Growatt inverter together with the rest of the house: switch the immersion heater on only when the battery is full, charge from the grid during the cheap window, and keep an eye on the heat pump – without setting up Home Assistant.
- Logs in to Growatt with the ShinePhone username/password – no extra hardware
- Live SOC, PV per string, load and grid import
- Smart Life / Tuya plugs and switches, LG Therma V heat pumps, Gree/Toshiba/Daikin/LG/SmartThings air conditioners
- Rules such as "SOC ≥ 90% and PV ≥ 2 kW → immersion ON" or "00:30–04:30 → charge Solar + Utility"
- Heat pump protection (minimum time between on/off), email alerts if something stops responding
90-second demo:
Demo without signing up: https://home-hub-beta.home-hub-1.workers.dev/demo
Limitations: Growatt data comes via their cloud (1–5 min delay); mostly tested on SPF/SPE models. Beta – use at your own risk. Feedback welcome!
Please bear in mind, everyone, that in order to use this app you will have to enter your Growatt username and password into a third party app whose trustworthiness is completely unknown. That's a significant security concern.
@kaloyan-yonov, I'm not questioning your integrity but you are an unknown and it is an important habit to question any instance where you are being asked to divulge personal information. Since the integrity of apps and online services varies wildly I think it's important that our members have this aspect made clear so they can make an informed decision.
