Samsung Launches the EHS Mono HT Quiet – A High Temperature, Low Noise Heat Pump Ideal for Home and Building Renovations
I believe that @grahamh has just had one installed at his home. Sounds like a very interesting unit.

Looks a pretty interesting unit, although hard numbers are still somewhat lacking, even on Midsummer Wholesale.

Some numbers that are out there are its dimensions; 1270 x 1018 x 530 mm. I make that 0.68 m3, which is more than the current permitted development limit of 0.6 m3. That's even for the 8kW one. Having to apply for planning permission would put me right off. Â
do these HT pumps implicitly work at a higher DT (return to flow DT that is) than the typical 5C that is talked about everywhere for heat pumps? if yes, what DT?
reason for asking is I'm doing the maths for my house, have 14-16kw heat loss , Did that myself on heatpunk.co.uk, it has been checked by freedom with a potential for using a RED although I'm much more inclined to the HT samsung now, doing the mass heat transfer numbers at 16kw / DT 5, aiming for a 1m/s flow velocity limit , needs 35mm copper which is insanely expensive and difficult to install. (although I'm a homeowner I'm also an engineer who understands the physics).
wherease if I can target a wider DT then I have a lot more options on primary pipe size for the same mass heat transfer target.... DT 10Â makes even 28mm plastic an option which is way cheaper and easy peasy to (self) install.

That’s a good question about DT. Maybe @grahamh can shed some light on this.

@kev-m thats not true , you dont measure it as a total box, you need to take into consideration the lumps and bumps and more importantly the dips. its 0.58m^3

@editor no its a 5 degree delta T, so you need about 40 l/min at flat out 14kW

@chickenbig info is easy to get if you know where to look, i have it all. contact another supplier, they will send you everything. data books, leaflets, install manuals they are all out there

Is this reasonable advice?Â

Wow. Our heat pump is lucky to get to 30litres/minute. Does this mean you need larger, more powerful distribution pumps?

@Jeff, I find the subject of pipework a contentious one and I'm not a fan of blanket statements.
I'm not a plumbing expert but can only speak from our own experience and we have places in the house where the previous owners dropped the pipe bore and it's led to all kinds of heating issues. These issues have been "engineered" out by putting in larger distribution pumps, but they draw more power and invisibly add to your heating bill.Â
