Melcloud.
I have this connected into the system. (
) Albeit it’s been installed upside down and so tight to the underside of the box I’m not sure I can remove it from it’s sleeve. It’s definitely connected as I can id the unit flashing light. I very much want to use the facility of the Melcloud and require some help.
Living in a rural area my broadband is via Vodafone 4G through a TP-Link router. My wifi about the house is then TP-Link Deco M4 Mesh. It’s very good but as a consequence wifi is switched off in the router. Is it possible to connect Melcloud to a mesh system given the instructions state via WPS. Whilst there is a WPS button on the router, as said, wifi is turned off. It has to be in order to run a wifi mesh. The Melcloud manual doesn’t mention mesh.
Any assistance appreciated.

Hi Morgan, I hope you got this sorted.
Did you have this (wifi interface) professionally installed or did you DIY it?
I am considering buying one off eBay, I guess it's just a matter of plugging it into the main control box? I am out of warranty so voiding it isn't a concern.
Also sceptical as to whether I really need it or if it will just be a mostly unnecessary monitoring tool. I would like to know about the cycling of my HP and this would beat having my ear to it 24/7!
Hi @si-fillo I did get it sorted. It was professionally installed at time of commissioning. However at that time a third party wireless room stat was also installed which didn't really play nice with either that unit or Melcloud. Later exchanged the third party wireless stat for a proper Mitsubishi wireless one, also pro' install, which does play nice.
Even then however you won't get full diagnostics such as Melcloud graphing your COP on the fly because that requires an additional MMSP thingy which I don't have. Some on here do and can add comments. The info I can get off the Melcloud as my system stands is good and definitely saves having your ear stuck to a pipe lol.
Caveat: I am an expert by absolutely no means.

the wireless and Melcloud are definitely worth having. It can be a little fiddly to set up depending on your router but not that bad. You have to set up and link to a Melcloud account too. As usual there are Youtube videos to help. You do have to open up the FTC box and plug it in but that's nothing to worry about.
The MMSP type set up @Morgan mentioned gives you more. and more accurate data but isn't necessary for most everyday stuff.
Thank you both for your response. Sounds like it will be a DIY install then.
Oh damn, the item that I have seen on eBay has a slightly different model number:
MAC-5871F-E
compared with...
MAC-5671F
..that is mentioned in the OP.
Does anyone know if this will be compatible with my system? And if not will I have to source the product direct from Mitsubishi - they might only supply to installers(?).
@si-fillo I suspect a typo on the part of the ebay lister. After all, the ending should be IF-E not 1F-E.
There are two similar current modules, the MAC-567-IF-E (European model, connects to melcloud) and the MAC-568-IF-E (NZ/Aus model, connects to melview, but interestingly has a local echonetlite interface, potentially allowing non-cloud remote control by home automation systems). I've seen an earlier model called the MAC-557-IF, but I've not yet seen a genuine MAC-587 (or the MAC-577 which might come next). I didn't find it on Mitsubishi's website. Only some resellers, who may well have also misread it.
I suspect the NZ/Aus and European modules are interchangeable but of course I've not tried that and I don't know what happens if Mitsubishi see connections to Melview from European heat pumps.
@mjr thanks for your insight. btw, the typo's are on me 🙄
this is an image from the listing. we can see it clearly states that it is to connect to Melcloud and that it is a MAC-587IF-E. I'll probably just bite the bullet.
"The MAC-587IF Wi-Fi adapter allows full control of all Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems.
All functions of the previous Wi-Fi adapter model MAC-567IF-E are fully integrated into the new model MAC-587IF-E, which is more compact and will be compatible with all models of air conditioning equipment (RAC / PAC / VRF / ATW / Lossnay ). "
@jeff Yes, their reseller for Bulgaria, although that makes it clear it isn't a typo. Is there any sign that the new model has the echonetlite interface of the NZ/Aus version, or any documentation of its HTTP interface?
I'm getting a bit fed up with melcloud breaking and email-whinging during the power cuts and internet cuts that we seem to be having frequently this year (someone cut a cable by the A10 apparently, taking three random areas of Norfolk offline for 36h at first and now for shorter spells during permanent repairs).
@mjr Go to Settings' in Melcloud > Application Options where you can turn off notifications.

I think you are right in thinking it is only those NZ modules
There doesn't seem to be any mention of the URL Scheme or Echonetlite features on anything but the NZ/Aus unique numbered versions.
I think there would be a mention and some screenshots somewhere of the app showing the Echo toggle if it was available on other modules, and some mention of the URL Scheme.
No idea why it is just those modules/countries....
