What do the members here think of Heat Pump Covers and their impact on performance? Truth be told, I am not exactly a fan of how ASHPs look but also want to maximize efficiency (about to embark on my renovation so this will be the first time using an ASHP in my life for heating).

Apparently these covers don't impact performance due to their permeability but can provide a more aesthetically pleasing view  - this feels like it might be nonsense though?

A lot of folks will automatically dismiss these as unnecessary and likely to affect performance because of restricted airflow. It's hard to say if they will unless the manufacturers have tested them properly. I note this one says it is 'approved' by Mitsubishi  - I wonder if they willprovide any details?  I assume the back of this cover is open? 

I personally wouldn't but then I don't mind the way they look.

It's really annoying me that I've seen that very image before on this site, but I can't find the thread that had it in. A pity, because there was certainly a bit of discussion around it.
