@derek-m

Thanks, I’ll look at them. Really needs a separate post, don’t want to take over Ann’s thread.

@bobbt9866, as someone that knows LG products inside and out, can you please share your thoughts on Anna's situation?

@editor What everyone seems to be referring to as regards data is the sales leaflets and test conditions that all manufacturers adhere to.

LG has extensive literature covering Product Data through to Service and Installation manuals plus an owners manual issued with the unit.

I cannot comment based on the dearth of data on the project posted so far.

I can run the selection through LG software if you woud care to share design data. Is the unit a Split or a Monobloc?

First route should be through the actual installer/design engineer who did the calculations inthe first place.

The LG Therma V units have a massive range of operation.

Hi Bob,

I am working with Anng on the problems with her system, though not via the forum because of the large number of messages going backwards and forwards.

Both Ann and I have been searching through the manuals, to find out how to adjust the slope defining parameters for weather compensation, which would appear to be a closely guarded secret. Could you please throw some light on the subject?

Hi Bob,

Some further questions when you have time.

There are 3 possible control settings, Air, Water and Air + Water. As I understand, Water control is selectable between either the water flow temperature or water return temperature, but which Air do they refer to, indoor or outdoor?

If my understanding is correct, when heating control is selected, the controller compares one of the above against the desired setpoint.

When AI control is selected, what parameter is being controlled against what reference?

Thanks for providing the performance data, really useful. I did search for something like this before my earlier post, but couldn’t find or overlooked it. I’ve searched again and found it this time. The operational data looks similar to other manufacturers that I’ve looked at, which is good. Apologies if that caused any confusion to anyone. I had misinterpreted the difference between the sales data at standardised settings and the performance range.

Glad to see that @anng is getting the help she was looking for. Hope the settings can be configured to improve the situation.

@rusty I would need to know whether this is a monobloc or a split system. Different manuals

I am downloading service manuals from the LG site, which is taking some time.

I will respond back in the morning with data.

@editor I didnt realise there was a longer thread!

There is mention of an LG engineer (can I have a name) attending? Has a report actually been issued?

Did the engineer actually check the installation and comment on it? It was mentioned that the initial installation was not up to standard, was this corrected?

Is the engineer actually from LG or an LG Installer?

Sounds like the immersion is on all the time.

Is there warranty in place?

Sorry, I think that I may have caused more confusion.

I was referring to my earlier post in which I was trying to support @anng and referenced the headline marketing data for what I presumed was the system in question. I don’t need the information for a system that I have, and I don’t know exactly what system @anng has. Personally, I’m currently just investigating potential options and getting frustrated with the way the performance data is presented/supplied by the manufacturers.

@derek-m may know the exact system that @anng has, you may be referring to the request from @derek-m for more information. I don’t think the exact model details has been supplied yet.

This may be a long shot. I had my system fitted just over a year ago and I had a solar diverter fitted (i Boost) a month later. As soon as the diverter was fitted my kw usage shot up. The diverter was drawing the power. When I reset the diverter it would do nothing until surplus energy was detected then it would switch on again drawing 2-3kw (surplus from solar at this point was not even 1kw) again a reset/ing the diverter stopped the draw. The solar diverter was faulty and replaced. Do you have a solar diverter and if you have has it been checked.  It will have nothing to do with your temperature but could explain high energy use.
