Hi I had a ashp on  rebuild property last year. My first heat pump fitted in February 22 it worked ok. I did think it used a lot of electricity but put it down to bigger house. Then in April this year it got a fault the engineers came to fix it but have had to order parts we are still waiting for the parts to be delivered 3 months later. Was email yesterday part maybe in Europe 28th of July then have to be delivered to the UK.

The indoor unit is still on to heat water this is done by setting and power boost a little man appears on the screen to show it is heating up. This users about four to five kilowatt hours. The rest of the day the unit uses 14 to 15 kilowatt hours that is the same as if we don't put the hot water on. Engine is have told us not to switch the unit off as this makes it forget the settings. Is this right does anybody know about this it seems to be a lot of electricity for a box to sit in the corner doing not a lot for stop

I would like to hear your thoughts on this and is anybody else having problems with delivery from Daikin.

Thank you Dave

How are you measuring electricity consumption?  I know that some Mitsubishi ASHPs give overestimated readings of standby consumption using their own internal measurements. When measured with an external meter the real consumption is less.  I don't know if Daikin is the same but worth considering.
