@toodles it’s a Frankie system toodles but a customer that’s switched on with help from you guys.  They use fernox HP15 and put 20 litres into the system yesterday. The previous water looked like there was not enough thus corrosion so I asked what percentage and if they had a hydrometer to check and replied 20 litres should be more than enough.  The manufacturer states no dilution and it protects to -15. 16 radiators, buffer tank and associated pipework and 20 litres to fill all that.

@david999 From what I have read about your system, it is time the monkeys went home and some experienced plumbers and engineers came forward to sort out a very sorry mess. I hope you will be approaching them with a view towards recompense and to compensate for all your troubles too! Regards, Toodles.

@toodles got the samsung engineers out Monday, at the minute it’s costing me nearly 400 quid for the survey and diagnostics but without it I won’t know how bad it is.  After that I need to see what they intend to do.   But it’s a shame it’s allowed without a single person holding their feet to the fire.

@david999 I just want to clarify, is Craig from Samsung or is he the nearest representative/agent of Samsung? I have to say that charging £400 for an inspection of a system that has been fitted by a certified-Samsung installer seems like a lot of money.

@editor nearest representative..  I asked for their authorised agent for this area and was given this.  I need them for the guarantee. Samsung are fairly distant in this, they see the faults, reply with information but offer no assistance. I imagine if the installer walks then you are on your own other that causing them a whole load of grief right in the middle of a heat pump boom and I doubt they want that. They have done a shed load of local authorities houses and me shouting the odds will hurt. Name and shame as they say. The pain is less sorting mine.

@david999 Samsung have informed me they don’t have a Chris on their tech team. Can you please tell me where you’re located?

@david999 it’s only happening in a few weeks time. It’s been a long journey to figure out what’s wrong with our installation.

Just spoke with fernox 20lt of HP15 is way too low and it’s not a mix, only protects to -15 and unsuitable in Scotland. I need the HP15c diluted to 40% protecting to -20-22. It must be premixed and won’t blend in the pump.

@editor did you not get a Samsung engineer out like I’m doing to do a survey and diagnostics.  Seem to me the best route, present it to your installer and take it from there. The only way I would say.

@david999 yours is the right solution to establish what’s wrong. Hopefully Craig is switched on and up to speed on good installation processes. Please ask him what his thoughts are on the buffer tank.

The next challenge will be finding someone competent to repair it. I have a good installer I can recommend in Scotland but not sure if they do repair projects.
