Auto adapt and the Ecodan curve
Posted by: @westkentAt the weekend just to see what happens I lowered my high end to 30c.
This morning MELCloud showed my flow rate at one point reaching 50c.
Is this going to show that while on auto adapt that actual set flow rate has no real affect??
I think your current room temp chart confirms that you need to be much higher than 30c flow temp. It is reaching your target room temp. And as is often the case it goes past it by 1 degree before shutting down.
so one decision is - are you getting the right temperature that meets your needs. If so then 45c flow or 50c flow might be the only output that is going to achieve that when it’s -3c outside. But might be only 35c flow when it’s 8c outside.
Regarding weather compensation it will only output the flow temp your weather curve will tell it to do. It will not review the actual room temperature. So if the WCCurve is not set according to your home heat loss it will be slightly under or over delivering heat.
With Auto Adapt I’ve already said what I think of its limitations in my first post. And others have different views on it.
I favour setting the target room temp 1c below 21c and live with its overshoot.
@sunandair tbh I’m happy with everything but was I little miffed with the high temperature flow with a low temp setting.
As you mentioned though
I favour setting the target room temp 1c below 21c and live with its overshoot.
That’s more or less how I find my system achieves and I’m also happy with that.
Ill whack up my temp setting to 45c just to see if it makes a difference.
I ought to make a correction - I said it shuts down when it passes the set temp. What I meant to say it modulates as it reaches the set temp. And as @gary said; the program is supposed to learn how the home temperature changes in relation to its output and retains this info for future operation.
