hi everyone,
we have been doing bit more investigating into noise while we wait another appointment and a Daikain engineer.
the water pipes seems to be 28mm and the heating ones 22mm into 10mm. I marked them up on picture.
the vessel in the loft the voluminser has 22mm and 28mm.
Is this something that could affect the noise ?
we going to ask about that pipe you can’t lift that they have cut insulation around and not under.
I know anti vibration clips are also recommended Rather than the plastic ones, but isn’t metal more likely to rattle even with the rubber? Ours are plastic everywhere even outside.
we also going to insulate roof like advised but we going to wait till engineers all finished so it doesn’t all get spoilt.
thank you.
Hi everyone,
We just had a call from their specialist installer, who deals with problems. Was very helpful and seemed to know a lot about heat pump systems and assured us that noise can be sorted. He has looked at pictures and he seen things he would change. Obviously he said got to see before as difficult from pictures. and I don’t think can say too much. He said not installed wrong just he do some things different.
he doing a report and said hopefully he be coming to sort it out. He said pointless the installers keep coming as they don’t know, he deals with just this issues only.
He knew exactly why we getting noises at certain times and a lot about how it works. Soon as we said about night he knew how often noise was coming on and why.
so I have hope! I’ll will re post once we have further information, and if he can visit. He has to raise report but said mostly likely he will come 🤞🤞🤞
Hopefully if can be sorted and if anyone else has similar problem it will help them out too.
Fingers crossed indeed! Toodles.
Toodles, he heats his home with cold draughts and cooks his food with magnets.
@clairelp That sounds positive. Glad you are on the way to getting the noise sorted. 😀

Hi,
We had another one of their installers come. They changed the entry into the buffer to a side entry and changed some pipe to 28mm. And they attached buffer to the wall instead of the wood.
also they sorted the pipe that was attached to the floor with no insulation under.
however they have made it worse as we also now have the noise in bathroom and another bedroom rather then just one bedroom.
Husband has spoke to Daikain who said will sent out someone to look at it.
New added noise on top of the usual annoying whirring sound. is a drumming, like an old ceiling fan going round. Which you can’t hear in the loft like can in the rooms. I think it must be something under insulation. It’s definitely not the ashp unit, as can hear that, that’s different. Also didn’t have this noise before them came. So we now have more then one noise issue to solve 😬
The old volumiser used to have 28mm entry and 22mm exit now have 28mm in and out, then reducing to 22mm somewhere between volumiser and the airing cupboard before going into manifold.
we are wondering if this could be the noise. The force of change of thickness and if it would be better to be 28mm to the manifold. Just idea we thinking. Not sure what sort of noise this would make.
the installers are good at trying to sort the problem, I just don’t think they know what to do. So we trying to find out ourselves.
they didn’t sent specialist this time as they said they wanted to try changing the volumiser first.
