I am intending to try Havenwise when Samsung eventually provide the wifi kit which was supposed to be included with the pump, but they seem to be reluctant to do so. Mine is Gen 7, 12Kwh. At the moment I am using Planet Atmo device which is great for data, but has no controls.
@broadsman Not a lot of hope for me then with Gen 5 .Maybe get an answer from the discussion mentioned earlier in this thread by MARS
@alfapat For Havenwise, your heat pump needs to be internet connected like @broadsman mentioned. Most heat pumps that are currently being installed are internet connected. And if they are not, recent installs can easily be connected with a WiFi kit from the manufacturer.
I understand you have a heat pump that was installed 8 years ago. Is yours internet connected?

@hcas this is probably a dumb question but, how does one know if it's internet connected?

Samsung are reluctant to do so? Please elaborate.

@editor When the Samsung was delivered I was not aware that it should have included the wi- fi kit DB98-40278A, as my installer had already suggested that he install the modbus board and a Planet Atmos device to enable him to keep track of, and diagnose, any problems which might arise.
However, because Planet do not yet offer any control of settings, I subsequently looked at (Homely and) Havenwise and found that a wifi connection was necessary, but that the kit should have been included with the pump. However, it had not been supplied and my supplier is having difficulty getting Samsung to accept this, and indeed do not seem keen to sell us another one either. Enquiries are still ongoing. If anyone from Samsung is reading this, can you help me please?

Quite honestly, Samsung are a nightmare. Most manufacturers have off days, but Samsung seem to default to being consistently useless and incompetent. Their approach to resolving issues is appalling. I’ve personally forwarded countless problems with Samsung heat pumps from these forums to their head of heat pumps; while they acknowledge the issues, nothing ever gets done. Their customer support is abysmal, which is why it’s no surprise they’re being awkward. I'll contact them on your behalf. What heat pump model and size do you have, and I'll confirm if the wifi kit (DB98-40278A) should have come with it.

I would re iterate that thought.
The cowboys who fitted mine 8 yrs ago added the problems to my unit with the installation .
When they went into liquidation 6 months after endless faults and never getting fixed , nobody would take the resposibility on apart from one firm which was appointed by Freedom pumps to take on Samsung .The firm altered or corrected the plumbing but couldnt fix the wiring set up.The pump has worked fine itself but no one up here in Moray wants to know.
@editor. Thank you for the offer of contacting Samsung on my behalf. My pump is a Gen 7; 12Kwh, model AE120CXYBEK, and the wifi kit details were supplied in a phone call which I made to Samsung Aircon around October last year. I am happy to supply my installers details and their umbrella supplier, but I think that these should be in a direct email or PM if you need them.
I hope your contact will be able to move this forward to my satisfaction. The pump is working well and I am pleased with it.
Thanks again
