A bit of a long shot, but you never know - I’m doing some technical research into soil and was wondering if anyone can connect me with a soil expert that I can speak to.

@editor, are you wanting someone to talk with or do some work? If the former, I'd suggest as a first step getting in touch with the RHS.

It certainly used to be the case that RHS shops would have experts on hand so you could ask technical questions or just get advice. If you happen to be a member, there is a wider range of options for getting in touch with them, and a more comprehensive advice service. Either way, given what they do I'd think of them as your first port of call.

NFU Cymru (National Farmers Union) is based at Builth Wells. It's highly likely that they have members in central Wales who are knowledgeable on soil issues... and are probably also organic farmers.
