I used to think the saying ‘It’s an ill wind that blows nobody any good’ was rather obscure … that is until TOU tariffs came along and I had a smart meter to take advantage of very windy conditions and be paid to use energy! We have a greenhouse with acrylic glazing and over the years, have had to make numerous repairs and devise additional anchoring points to stop the sheets of acrylic sailing off in the wind! Wind damage to the property over the years has been a nuisance too but I console myself with the fact that an Octopus is willing to pay me to use energy at such worrying times and this does sugar the pill somewhat! 😉 Regards, Toodles.

Flying greenhouses...we had to resort to a Shetland Polycrub. At least it is still on terra firma!

@abernyte Well, those high winds certainly didn’t blow us any ‘bad’ Sat. 6th. April, we consumed 47.74 kWh and were paid £0.58 for doing so. 😊 Regards, Toodles.
