LiFePO4 cells, inverter and other bits for sale
I've recently changed hybrid-inverter/battery plans to focus on putting them in a more restrictive space, so the initially planned (rather expansive) system has been abandoned in favour of a Solis 5kW on-grid inverter, plus one 2p16s battery of LF280K with a Seplos BMS. Therefore the following equipment is up for sale :-
3 x Growatt SPF 5000ES off-grid inverters (unused, box opened to inspect contents);
18 x Xuba branded Eve LF280K LiFePO4 cells (unused, boxes opened and a selection capacity tested);
6 x Riedon CFB1 150A class T fuse and holder;
1 x JK BMS JK-B2A24S20P-C 200A current, 15S-24S battery, 2A active balance BMS
Pickup from Cambridge, cash on pickup. PM me about prices.
Damn you are 4 or 5 months too early. I want to sell my Pylon gear after the winter and build out another 2 battery packs! If you had the Seplos box I'd bit your hand off today!
@batalto I know the feeling; I could not get my hands on 3 pieces of 200A BMS Mason boxes in August, so I've redesigned.
@batalto I'm going for a 2p16s arrangement with Eve LF280K cells, so a pretty big pack under the stairs with perhaps 23kWh of useable capacity! Not sure we need all of that capacity (yet), but I'm treating it as a learning opportunity. My significant other is a bit nervous of the DIY approach, although she doesn't like leaving the kettle plugged in when we leave the house 🙂
Posted by: @bataltoso why are you getting rid of your cells?
I'm selling some of the cells, not all of them. I bought 50 cells (3 * 16 plus 2 spare) and am selling effectively one set. Probably 2p16s is good enough; 29kWh of total battery storage gets most of the value for using Economy 7 (35kWh) or Octopus Go (25kWh). Not that I can really use Octopus Go having no electric vehicle or a place to park/charge it.
The previous plan was for 2 Growatt SPF5000ES in parallel, connected to 3 Mason 280 DIY batteries, but the higher current and more cabling made things complex, in addition to floor-space hungry. And I could not get the Mason DIY kits.
@chickenbig yeah you really want that 5kw charge/discharge. My current inverters limit me to 65A (3.1kw charge) and its very annoying. My plan is to swap them for 5kw capable inverters when I do my batteries in the spring. I think I sell my Sofars for around £600 each (maybe more) so the cost would be limited. Now I also have the current ones in place swapping the cable from the current to the new ones is basically no work anyway.
I might be tempted to upgrade from my CALB 210aH LiFePo4 prismatics as they are 11yrs old and a bit tired, what were you thinking of for the cells?
Off grid on the isle of purbeck
2.4kW solar, 15kWh Seplos Mason, Outback power systems 3kW inverter/charger, solid fuel heating with air/air for shoulder months, 10 acres of heathland/woods.
My wife’s house: 1946 3 bed end of terrace in Somerset, ASHP with rads + UFH, triple glazed, retrofit IWI in troublesome rooms, small rear extension.
@chickenbig how is the sale here coming along? Can you confirm the package dimensions and weights for the batteries? I'd still be interested in the new year if they aren't sold yet?
