Most efficient use of NIBE GSHP with Solar PV
Hi @derek-mÂ
Thanks!
I totally understand about the battery (and the VAT side of things). It's just that I've got a SolarEdge single phase inverter and that system wants a high voltage DC coupled battery and there are only two that are compatible: LG Chem Resu Prime, or a SolarEdge StorEdge. I just don't have the money right now (about 5-6k for the LG, about 7-8k for the StorEdge).
In fairness, I could install any old AC coupled system. But that means I'll have to buy another inverter on top of the SolarEdge inverter I've already got. I know it's possible. And maybe it's cheaper and will work equally well. It's just not very elegant, so I'm biding my time, looking at all the things I can do, and then deciding.
Out of everything, the cheapest, simplest thing to do is to get an iBoost.
We have a 4kW solar PV system which provides almost all our hot water from Spring through to Autumn. Even on cloudy days it can supply sufficient heat energy.
