Samsung HP secondary pump wiring
Hi, I'm in the process of upgrading the controls of my Samsung 5 HP. I've removed the zone valves on the UFH manifold, the room stats and opened all the rad TRVs and intend to control the house temperature via a fixed flow and leaving Homely to adjust the water temperature. There are numerous Heat Geek and Urban Plumber YouTube videos on the subject.
Everything is working well apart from my secondary pump, which runs constantly, only 8w, but it should only run when heating is demanded.
I can't use the Homely wiring diagram as it is for a series 6 HP and my 3 way valve only has 4 wires not 5.
I have tried using a wiring diagram I found on midsummer wholesale. (Below) Using B1 B6 for the primary and B7 B8 for the secondary ( that diagram uses 2 additional wires for speed control which my Alpha doesn't need)
Previously the secondary pump used the Hive thermostat to provide the signal to turn on and off. As in the attached pic. The hive control is now superfluous and has been removed.
Can anyone help me find another way of engaging the secondary pump when heating is called for?
In my younger days I'd have been able to figure it out.. but the brain isn't working as well as I'd did!
Thanks in advance,
Chris
Might be worth a word with Homely as when I first wanted to have a smart controller fitted, they could not accommodate my Daikin with a secondary pump. They told me they were working on the task and a few months later, they produced a version that controls my secondary (Wilo Pico) pump. Regards, Toodles.
Toodles, he heats his home with cold draughts and cooks his food with magnets.
Thanks for the reply. I have asked a couple of days ago.. possibly not the right person.. but didn't get the answer in the reply. Thought I'd try for an answer elsewhere.
