Routing primary pipework up exterior of building
My primary pipework is on the inside of walls covered with plasterboard. I've been advised that it is carrying noise inside, especially as it hasn't been lagged and is in contact with brickwork. It's been suggested that I reroute the pipework, insulated and in trunking, up the outside of the house into the loft where the cylinder is. Any thoughts on the following:
1. Is this a good idea and might it reduce noise?
2. Any tips for what fixings to use for pipework through 900mm external insulation?
Thanks.
1. Octopus sometimes direct piping up outside walls - fully lagged then covered with neat trunking - if you go into the Octopus (unofficial) heat pump Facebook group there's lots of examples and people who will explain details.
Yes, it will reduce noise if that's a problem. It should've been lagged no matter what.
2. Dunno about fixing but lots of other people here do..
