Midea ASHP controller
Hi bmirza,
I would not know ast I am currently at 8,600 kWh, but is it another funny glitch in the Midea readouts, kkWh isn't a particularly helpful metric. That is why there are efforts on this forum to get more useful data out of the midea machines (and its many derivatives).
A factory reset - a contentious term in the UK nowadays - might do it?
Hi.
I do hope I will handle it somehow in one way or another, where the reset is one option to be considered as well. I made some adjustments in settings over time so to be very careful by resting it. Your balance is close to 10MWh as well, and you`re about to face the same, once you reach the limit. Once I find the best way to handle it I will share it for sure. Just for a laugh, Once I switch to the cooling mode it might run in reverse down to zero!!
Yes, that is correct. I make the most of it for the readings.
As of now, there isn't another choice.
To get around the Midea, I intend to add one digital power rail controller.

If you are willing to do a bit of work, there are other ways of getting Midea data. One is to use a python module called midea_ac_lan in something like Home Assistant which collects the data SmartHome app uses. For more comprehensive data collection you can use modbus (two wire connection to the wired controller, lots of data available) which I use to get charts like this (this is last 24 hours, time period freely selectable):
There's quite a lot of setting up to do, and you need to know how to do basic stuff in python, but once set up, it is very useful. For example, I can see the defrosts in the above chart, the dips where the LWT goes below the RWT.
Midea 14kW (for now...) ASHP heating both building and DHW
