Looking for the Grant Aerona 3 setting to turn off completely at 20 OAT
I'm running my Aerona 3 on WC and the 'warm end of that is set to 23LWT @ 16OAT The ASHP doesn't allow a min LWT of less than 23 but as the OAT starts going above 16c there'll be a point where I'd rather the ASHP just stopped completely rather than producing 23c. I do have room thermostats which are set high to run the system open but I don't really want to use them to shut down the heating room by room as I'll probably end up with the ASHP pushing water through one rad in the last bedroom to turn off. I've hunted through the manual but I can't find a setting which says 'stop heating when OAT reaches a set temp' or similar. Has anyone found one?
Hi @damonc, parameter 2015 is the maximum outdoor air temperature corresponding to minimum outgoing water temperature. Default setting is 20degC, in your case you need this set to 16degC if you don't want heating when the outdoor air temperature is above 16degC. Refer to Grant Aerona 3 installation manual 0136 Rev 2.4 page 36
@allyfish thanks for replying, did you mean 2105? (I can't find a parameter 2015) if so that's already set to 16 but I thought it would just carry on producing 23 LWT above 16 rather than turn off heating completely, my reasoning was at the other end of the curve it doesn't get any hotter when you go past your lowest OAT just plateaus there but I guess that assumption doesn't make a lot of sense or it would still be producing 23 LWT right through summer so I think my settings are ok, will see when it gets warmer but I think the pump may continue circulating as I'm sure I was above 16 last week and it didn't cut out .
Sorry, yes, 2105. OOPS! If I recall the unit circulates water if the heating is scheduled to be on, but simply doesn't heat the circulating water if the ambient temperature is >2105 parameter setting.
