Question about Mitsubishi Ecodan Hot Water Scheduling
Hello All,
I'm considering using the scheduling programme with my Ecodan system for hot water only.
Currently set to always on and only heats to target of 48 once it reaches 40.
Question is - if I set to schedule for a 4am start time, I assume it will still use the current target temperature of 48. But what happens when it drops below 40 during the rest of the day? Will it continue to drop below 40 until the time of 4am the next day is reached? I know I can set more than one schedule time but I'm not fussed about the rest of the day.
Thanks
Lee
I’m on a cheap rate night tariff and schedule mine to heat at 03.30am to the maximum of 60c.
That may seem excessive but at 6.7p night rate it seems to me fine.
Also heating to 60c every day means I can do away with legionnaires cycle.
Yes, your correct that your water won’t heat again until 4am the next day but you can have more than one schedule set over a 24hr period.
Thank you for your reply.
To get to 60 I would have to use the legionnaires cycle every day which wouldn't be cost effective.
Anyway, thanks and as I suspected, I would have to set another HW schedule to keep the tank at a reasonable temperature throughout the day.
I think at the moment with single digit day temperatures I'm losing about 1 degree tank temperature for every 90 minutes.
Lee
You don’t need a legionnaire cycle to heat to 60c ??
As said, I don’t bother with a legionnaire cycle.
My H/W loses very similar to yours.
