Related, but slightly off topic, do we know who / where actually makes the ideal heatpumps (in particular the hp290). I would dearly love to "buy British" , but I suspect, as with solar panels, it is not possible.

The ideal r290s are Midea clones (but with ideal controls) made I believe in china.

To the best of my knowledge Mitsubishi and Vaillant assemble heat pumps in the UK.  Both have a good reputation (as does ideal in fairness)
