dgclimatecontrol RE: Designing my house system with a mix of air to air and air to water

By dgclimatecontrol, 3 weeks ago

The A2A would be mostly if not all free if you have so much PV and a large battery. Mine is most of the year. It'll be cheaper and far quicker to work than A2W. Most people leave most doors open so it...
RE: Mixergy Tank Failure

By Old_Scientist, 3 weeks ago

@bontwoody so pleased it's finally working. Yes, this is what threw me when I read your post yesterday - how were you recording flow for 1min with a closed valve, and if there were no flow, why did ...
Transparent RE: Incorrect Billing of Customers with a Smart Meter

By Transparent, 3 weeks ago

How odd @korwraith - that functionality being offered by So Energy can't be based on the Tariff Matrix in the Smart Meter. As we've discussed earlier in this topic, the Smart Meter only has the conce...
RE: Solar inverters - where does the energy go when clipping?

By Batpred, 3 weeks ago

Very enlightening discussion. I know we will be a pain to the PV installers we will hire, but.. We are wondering what to look for panels considering temperatures etc - to install in SE England. Quic...
RE: Designing my house system with a mix of air to air and air to water

I don't but I do have an a2W system with one fancoil and 2 radiators that have had fans added on a DiY basis. The rest is conventional rads. If I were doing this again I would have had a couple more f...

A long time has passed and after a short lived flirtation with Tomato Energy I've now landed on So Energy for my EV/battery tariff. There's some chat on Facebook regarding So Energy's exact off peak h...

bontwoody RE: Mixergy Tank Failure

By bontwoody, 3 weeks ago

@jamespa absolutely. But I think I might have to get the Mixergy Control unit to achieve that. Ill keep my eyes open on ebay. In the mean time I will also drop the desired tank temperature and maybe h...
RE: Mixergy Tank Failure

If you can turn on the destrat pump COP should improve because the water in contact with the coil will be colder. You will also heat more of the tank likely to a higher temp.
RE: Grant 13kW Aerona3 - issues getting zones to temp

By JamesPa, 3 weeks ago

As you know balancing flow rates is very important. If flow from heat pump < flow to emitters you get significant system distortion (and thus loss of efficiency) because return water finds its way...
bontwoody RE: Mixergy Tank Failure

By bontwoody, 3 weeks ago

@old_scientist Yip Yip! it worked. Attachment : image.png Attachment : Screenshot_20251023_081605_Mixergy.jpg So the DT was small, probably because the stratification pump is off and the...
RE: Buying a new EV charger

By JamesPa, 3 weeks ago

This is what I do, but I have a very simple economy 7 like tarrif (EON Next Drive) so the settings are trivial. EV-rated 13A wall socket, 'granny' charger, Shelley 16A relay, HA. The Shelley relay c...
