Energy Tariffs: Like Train Fares!
Perhaps it is just me but… I cannot help feeling that there are so many different tariffs available (Yes, I know, different strokes for different folks) now that the energy sector may be doing themselves a disservice in the same way as train fares are so complicated and diverse that one might pick from well over a hundred different ticket prices for many journeys.
To avoid the use of dirty Peaker Stations by spreading the load over a greater number of hours is very sensible but - just taking one energy provider, one might find 10 different tariffs, mainly variable or flexible in some way to choose from! Add to this the complication of whether consumers have Solar PV, battery storage, heat pump or EV….. The Bind Mogggles! Regards, Toodles.
