CO2 emissions from electricity versus oil boiler in the UK
Does anyone know, approximately, how much CO2 is emitted to generate 1kWh of electricity in the UK? I know it's a tough one because of all the renewables that are in play and the grid is still propped up by gas.
Then, does anyone know how much CO2 is emitted by a an oil boiler for 1 litre of fuel?

@editor There is always a problem with averages, which is also reflected in the data above.
Average UK CO2 emissions is 10.0 tonnes per person per year (ref
With EVs, an ASHP, green electric, recycling and composting as much as possible (including soft plastics), eating less meat (3 vegetarian meals/week), not flying anywhere for 2years I think our carbon footprint is down to about 4.5 tonnes CO2 per person per year. Which is good on the one hand.
But the target is 2 tonnes CO2 per person per year by 2030 to meet Paris and COP26 objectives to keep global warming below 1.5C 😳. Wow.
So I / we have much to do. I think my numbers are still above target because of the things I buy. Our purchases need to be made in a carbon neutral way. We need to personally burn less stuff. The UK government needs to continue to decarbonise the energy market. I need to invest in Ripple energy.
I’d welcome a discussion on this very complex but critical topic.

Mr. Abramovich is going to struggle to get in under the two tonne mark.
