Took a while to find on the OFGEN site:
”The FIT scheme has been closed to new applicants since 1 April 2019; however, it will remain part of bills until 2039”
MSE site estimates OFGEN is paying out at least £15million a year, that will be for the next 14 years, the rate increased 3.6% this year.
I feel like a record is on it's way this month. Scotland has never been this sunny for this long without a break. At 653kw already this monthand in counting......
I feel like I am in Spain. 😀
16kw Samsung TDM ASHP. 8.4kw PV, power optimizers 20×420watt panels 6kw SolarEdge inverter.
Well we finished this month with an all time record! Even smashed my highest June by almost 300kw. This month's production 🥁..... is 1350kw. Very pleased. I hope June will be good to us as well.
I hope your area was as sunny this month as Edinburgh. Have great weekend everyone!

Can but hope for a Four Sun Rating in June!

My 6kw system produced 898kwh in May for a total 2454kwh year to date
vs expected 667kwh and 2051kwh ytd
My older 2.2kw system produced 243kwh in May for a total 722kwh year to date
vs expected 200kwh and 630kwh ytd
awesome sunny spring making most of the difference but also helped by a neighbouring tree being severely reduced and less shading.
Intelligent Octopus Go working extremely well with outgoing 15p so that most imports at 7p and forced exports in the day helping maximise income.
Its just possible that this year my net cost of elec will be around £500 (or less) including EV, heating, hot water etc

That sounds amazing, Tim!
I recently switched to Eon Next Drive, and I also export to them.
Their customer service is pretty good. It's not quite up to Octopus's standard, but I'm happy with it. Their export tariff payment is quarterly, not monthly like Octopus.
The tariff, on the other hand, is amazing: 16.5p/kWh. For export, it's 6.7p from midnight to 7 am. There are no restrictions. The day rate is 24p.
If you want, I can send you one of those referrals where we each get money, like Octopus does.
Have a lovely summer with lots of sunshine 🌞!
16kw Samsung TDM ASHP. 8.4kw PV, power optimizers 20×420watt panels 6kw SolarEdge inverter.
I applied for the first wave of PV, when they fitted the panels for free and kept the FIT, but was turned down as my roof doesn't face South.
I’ve got the newer all black panels on both sides of my roof, half catch the morning sun and the other half catch late evening.
It cost more to install as I needed scaffolding front and back, but every m2 of roof space is now PV, 6+6 panels.
I was expecting a double peak over the day, but I see the standard Sun traversing profile.
My PV June last year was 695kWh, this years May beats that at 701kWh (it’s not kwh!) Watt is the unit of power and is capitalised.
@andris with IOG I get extensions to the cheap rate period - quite often it actually runs from 22:30 to 08:00 as well as additional cheap periods occasionally in the day. Makes it much harder to calculate an exact comparison. But I don't think EON offer any extension?
My inverter is a slower 2.6kwh which means empty batteries take a long time to fill.
So for now I plan to stick with Octopus through this year and see how it all shakes down.
With the extra imports for forced exports I anticipate importing around 12000kwh (lazy caps!) @ circa ave 8p. Perhaps £1000
Exports might be around 6000kwh @ 15p. Perhaps £900
So on most optimistic scenario my net cost may be near zero. But I'll be very happy if I get sub £1000 and am targeting £500.

Being with Octopus, I’m paid 15p for any exported kWh, so cheaper to use HP to warm the DHW than Immersion Heater.
Octopus also advised setting DHW to 45C, which saves energy and you don't need to mix hot water with cold to get a 38C shower.
I’ve just replaced all my ancient 22/15mm copper pipes with 15mm PEX, they absorb less heat from the water, and insulated the whole pipe run. That’s reduced wait time for Hot water by 50%
510kWh of solar PV from my 4kW Hyundai panels and SMA SunnyBoy inverter in rural Worcestershire for May.
Pleased.
This equates to ~£380 or so based on my 2012 FiT
Daikin Altherma 3H HT 12kWh ASHP with Mixergy h/w cylinder; 4kW solar PV with Solic 200 electric diverter; Honda e and new Hyundai Ioniq 5 N electric vehicles with Myenergi Zappi mk1 charger
June proved to be quite respectable for solar production; it beat June 2024 but was less than 2023.
