Hi guys

Thanks for setting this up. I’m considering heating options now with potential change from oil to ASHP. Will ferret through posts. Am particularly interested in the noise element and running costs.

@info, welcome to the site. We don't have a tutorial on how to comment on the forums, but it is straightforward. The forums are divided into categories, with topics and comments. Hi there!

I have just joined after reading https://myhomefarm.co.uk/potential-air-source-heat-pump-running-cost-issue on "My Home Farm".
In Germany, the energy price has risen up to 32 Ct/kWh for the standard tariff (world champion).
We paid 2000 € with 7568 kWh for heating with our heat pump in 2020. This equals a “special heat pump tariff” of 26.38 Ct/kWh.
Back in 2002, we started with a medium tariff of 11.8 Ct/kWh.
We must consider how to go on as soon as the heat pump breaks down…

Hi, love your YouTube channel and the idea behind this forum.

I live in a small village in Cheshire and currently use LPG to heat our home. 
a year ago we had 3.3kW of solar panels installed.

We are considering an ASHP and because we are concerned about noise levels have had a quote on a 14.5kWh Mitsubishi Ecodan system. We think the price of £15500 is a bit high, though it does include replacing the hot water tank and all the radiators.

@ruyalar we have just had an Ecodan (largest) and we paid £11,200. Three replacement radiators came to £800

@mikefitz thanks Mike,  that makes it £3500 for 9 radiators and new hot water tank! There is a 7 year warranty with no annual service needed 

What installer did you use?

@ruyalar our Evidan came with a huge hot  water tank. So yes i think your quote is very high

  1. Mitsubishi Ecodan’s seem to always be sold with a new tank as all the pumps, filters and valves are pre fitted for ease of fitting and space saving. Though it must be two metres tall
