Midea M-thermal Mono ASHP - setting Schedule / Timer
Good morning. New member. Recently installed 16kW Midea M-thermal Mono ATW Heat Pump - - providing DHW and supply to both UFH & rads.
Seeking advice from more experienced members here.
My grid electricity is around 40% cheaper from 2330 - 0630 than daytime. We very rarely need 'hot' DHW after 2100. So .... obviously I can use my heating (UFH & Rads) controller to switch off demand in the evenings when the house is warmed up & grid electricity is 'expensive' - - but how do I do the same for my DHW ??
I have tried to use the 'Schedule / Timer ' options on the Midea wired controller - - but it is not clear to me how to achieve this
When I go into the controller Schedule panel it offers START and END times (clear enough!) but also requires MODE (HEAT / COOL / DHW) and TEMP.
My questions ->
* what is the best way to 'switch' off any DHW heating demand on my ASHP in the evenings ... delaying that demand until I have cheaper grid electricity at night ?
* is it to use the SCHEDULE functionality in the Midea controller ?
* if so, do I just need the TIMER screens ? ignore WEEKLY SCHEDULE ?
* what MODE should I set ? and what TEMP ?
* what happens to my system outside of times programmed into the SCHEDULE screens ? is it ' business as usual' ?
I look forward to your thoughts.
@dealstriker - welcome to the forum, and to the crazy world of the Midea controller.
I have my controller set up to have the DHW heating on between 1300 and 1400 every day (no time of use tariff, so use the usually warmer part of the day), and use just the Schedule > Timer screen, just one (first) row ticked, start 1300 end 1400 mode DHW temp 50 (same as on front page/main screen).
This does seem to work, but when I tried a while back to do something to time the heating to be off overnight, it didn't work. But, as I say, the single row DHW timer does work.
I think the Timer screen is just a global every day screen, the second Weekly Schedule screen is there to set different timings for different days of the week.
Midea 14kW (for now...) ASHP heating both building and DHW
