RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

By ASHP-BOBBA, 11 hours ago

@andrewj Oh, thats a good one, so the answer is subject to what power and recovery you have for the room/s assuming its typicly balanced and has the capacity to climb another deg as a lot of system ar...
RE: Getting the best out of a heat pump - is Homely a possible answer?

By benson, 11 hours ago

@johnmo yes. This is effectively what some of us are doing to access the dashboard. You don't have to recommission it, but then again this would presumably remove previous installer access as you say....
RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

By AndrewJ, 11 hours ago

@ashp-bobba Thanks - I think going back to my earlier comment it is about having a properly balanced system so that whilst that one room is being used to fine-tune the flow temperature the other rooms...
RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

By ASHP-BOBBA, 11 hours ago

@andrewj Ah, maybe, they also often design to 50 Deg C flow rate and do everything to reduce the amount of emitters changed. If you balance everything to run on the correct curve you may get away with...
RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

@andrewj so this thermostat would normally go in a room that would be considered an average comfort, this stat is also only used to feed some info back to the ASHP, its not the overall master control....

By AndrewJ, 11 hours ago

Thing is, when explained like this it sounds very much like a thermostat, albeit not on/off! What is happening to the other rooms as the room with the sensor is now controlling things?
RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

By AndrewJ, 11 hours ago

I think I understand weather compensation ok and I can see how that works by altering flow temperature such that each emitter is supplying the right amount of output to match the expected heat loss at...
RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

By ASHP-BOBBA, 11 hours ago

📈 Role of the Internal Stat (Thermostat) When the internal stat is active while using a weather curve, it modulates or overrides the weather compensation in real time based on actual indoor te...
RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

By ASHP-BOBBA, 11 hours ago

this is the actual answer to yur question and they both aim to provide the same thing and are related, this means both effect the other in some form. 🔹 Weather Compensation What it does: A...
RE: Load Compensation and Weather Compensation

By Johnmo, 11 hours ago

If you have UFH you get big swings in room temperature using load compensation. Unless you use very thin screed. So really more like a radiator than UFH. You can also get big swings in room temperatur...
