Best Heat Pump Award 2025

The results are in! After months of voting and over 5,700 votes for 29 different heat pump brands, homeowners across the UK have spoken, and we’re thrilled to announce the winners of the Best Heat Pump Brand for 2025.

Unlike other awards judged by panels of experts, this accolade is unique. It reflects the genuine, real-world experiences of people who live with these systems every day. Homeowners evaluated brands based on satisfaction, reliability, comfort, efficiency and customer support, giving us an honest snapshot of what truly works in UK homes.

And the winner is…

🏆 Mitsubishi Electric, best known for its Ecodan heat pump, has claimed the top spot with 10.36% of the total votes, earning the title of Renewable Heating Hub’s Best Heat Pump Brand 2025.

Runner-up positions

🥈 NIBE took second place with 8.88% of the votes.

🥉 Grant clinched third place with 8.51% of the votes.

Honourable mentions

While Mitsubishi Electric, NIBE and Grant secured the top three positions, the strong performance of several other brands highlights the intense competition within the UK heat pump market. This dynamic landscape benefits consumers by driving innovation, improving product quality and expanding the range of options available:

  • Vaillant (8.09%) and Daikin (6.76%) earned their spots in the top five.
  • Panasonic (6.23%), Viessmann (6.21%), Samsung (5.97%), LG (5.23%) and Worcester Bosch (4.95%) rounded out the top ten.

This year’s awards also shone a spotlight on rising names like Baxi (4.01%) and Ideal (2.78%). While these brands may not have reached the top tier just yet, their growing presence in the rankings reflects the expanding diversity and innovation within the heat pump industry.

With 29 brands competing for recognition, the inaugural Best Heat Pump Brand Award highlights the breadth of choice available to UK homeowners.

This award wouldn’t have been possible without the voices of homeowners across the country. Thank you to everyone who participated, shared their experiences and cast their votes.

Methodology

The awards were based on an open poll hosted on the Renewable Heating Hub website from October to December 2024. Homeowners were invited to vote for the brands they believed were the best in the UK, based on their personal experience with heat pumps.

Participation was open to anyone visiting the site, with no restrictions on who could vote, and the goal was to capture genuine sentiment from homeowners across the UK, providing a snapshot of real-world satisfaction.

The results reflect the opinions of real users, making them highly relevant to homeowners considering heat pump options, but it should be noted that larger brands with a higher number of installations may have a numerical advantage in terms of potential voters. However, it’s worth noting that homeowners are unlikely to vote for a brand if they are dissatisfied with its performance, comfort, efficiency or customer support.

While the awards do not measure market share, they offer valuable insights into how brands are perceived in terms of customer satisfaction and real-world performance.

As the UK continues its transition to greener energy solutions, we congratulate all the winners and participants for their role in driving innovation and sustainability. Here’s to another year of progress in renewable heating!

interestingly no really clear winner. I would have thought someone would have picked up 50% of the votes and a the rest divided by the others. So overall all heat pumps are pretty much equally good or bad in the eyes of the general public.
