Based in central Scotland and led by founder Sean Hogan (and regular guest on the Homeowers’ Q&A podcast), this small, highly skilled team has quickly built a reputation for meticulous workmanship, intelligent design and a refreshingly personal approach to customer service. Whether it’s retrofitting heat pumps into older homes or designing from scratch for new builds, Aventus Eco delivers heating systems that are built to last… and built to perform.
“We’re not here to bash out volume,” says Sean. “We’re here to get it right. That’s how you build a reputation that lasts.”
Design-First Heat Pump Installs
Specialising in low-temperature air source heat pump systems, Aventus Eco tailors every installation to the needs of the property. Whether designing around underfloor heating or carefully sizing radiators for 43C flow temperatures, the focus is always on efficiency and long-term performance… not just ticking boxes.
Every project starts with a full room-by-room heat loss calculation using in-house tools like Spruce and H2X, with no reliance on generic templates. Sean personally handles every survey and design, and remains hands-on throughout the installation process.
“If you get the water volume, flow rate, emitter output and pipework right, the rest takes care of itself,” says Sean. “We’re obsessive about the details because those are what make or break performance.”
Trusted Tools, Real Results
Aventus Eco mainly works with Vaillant and Panasonic heat pumps, carefully choosing the right system based on the job, not brand loyalty. Vaillant’s aroTHERM plus works well with optimised low-temperature systems, while Panasonic’s T-PAC M Series excels in more challenging installs like microbore systems.
They design most installs as one-zone open-loop systems, avoiding buffer tanks entirely unless absolutely necessary. Systems are fine-tuned using Testo clamps, thermal imaging, and remote monitoring via Vaillant Pro and Panasonic Cloud, ensuring real-time performance data and fewer callouts.
Clean, Consistent and Always in Control
There are no subcontractors at Aventus Eco. The team that surveys your home is the same team that will carry out the installation, ensuring a seamless handover from start to finish.
Commissioning is treated with the same rigour as installation. From pressure testing and flow balancing to staged UFH commissioning and weather-comp setup, every detail is considered to deliver both performance and longevity.
The team prides itself on being tidy, respectful and organised… laying floor protection, communicating clearly and leaving the site better than they found it.

Customer Service That Actually Serves
When you choose Aventus Eco, you’re not just getting a heat pump… you’re getting ongoing support. From the moment a customer signs up, they’re added to a dedicated WhatsApp group with the team for instant support, 7 days a week.
“Most companies think that kind of service is too much work,” says Sean. “That’s exactly why we do it. It’s what sets us apart.”
All installs come with remote system monitoring, annual servicing options and direct access to the team for troubleshooting. Customers never get passed off to manufacturers… Aventus handles everything.
Accreditations and Ongoing Development
Aventus Eco is MCS certified for both heat pumps and solar PV, and registered with RECC and TrustMark. They’re also accredited by the IAA and are working towards PAS 2035 certification for future large-scale and council-led projects.
The team keeps up to date with industry standards through Heat Geek, MCS, RECC and Home Energy Scotland, and has built close relationships with manufacturers and other training leaders, including Kimbo and international expert Mario Docić.
For Scottish customers, Aventus handles all Home Energy Scotland loans and grant paperwork on their behalf and supports local community energy projects via the CARES scheme.
A Project to Be Proud Of
A recent hybrid new build/retrofit project in Bathgate showcased everything Aventus Eco does best. Designed from scratch with a 250L unvented cylinder and a 35°C flow system, it featured a pristine hidden plant room and one of the cleanest layouts the team has ever delivered.
That install is now shortlisted for two awards at the 2025 Scottish Energy Efficiency Awards: Best New Build Renewable Project and Installer of the Year.
In Their Customers’ Words
Aventus Eco’s customer reviews are available online – nothing cherry-picked or filtered. What comes through consistently is praise for the team’s cleanliness, honesty, efficiency and especially their aftercare.
“The WhatsApp support is a game changer. I had a question months after the install and got a reply in five minutes. That level of service is rare.”
Final Advice from Sean
“Don’t base your decision on price alone. Ask how the system is designed, what temperature it’s built to run at and who’s doing the install. The right system might cost more upfront, but it’ll work better and cost you less long-term.”
