We were moved to Octopus when Avro went bust. Gas prices had doubled, but we were changing to ASHP, so that didn’t really matter. Our electricity price also went up from 15.5p to 20.5p per kWh. The service with Octopus so far has been great when I’ve needed them. Octopus were also quick to install a smart meter for us last week, after we had asked Avro and the previous supplier for over three years, but they all failed to supply it.

My main concern now is the amount of electricity the ASHP uses and that it seems it’s going to be far more expensive to heat our home with ASHP than gas. I had expected a price increase, but not this much! I’m expecting our overall bill this year to go from about £1,200 to £2,600. including the price increase everyone is suffering plus the high cost of heating home with ASHP.

I have been a customer for 6+ years, absolutely appreciate the honesty as well as the innovation.

Whether they can continue to be agile as the they get larger, remains to be seen.

Excellent experience with Octopus since joining them 2 years ago. They have been very responsive to queries and in particular helpful with attempts to get an installed but not commissioned Smart Meter up and running.

We have been with Octopus for nearly two years and found them to be a very refreshing change after previous experiences with ‘other suppliers’. We like the company ethos and their honesty; their offerings are set out in their various webpages with Q and A to answer most situations. I have requested various tariff changes and have always been dealt with promptly and considerately. Using Agile to purchase and Outgoing Fixed to sell my excess solar PV production – I doubt any other supplier would be as generous! Gregg and his team of workers really are the tops! Toodles.
