Speedcomfort Radiator Fan

Speedcomfort Radiator Fan

Radiator fans sit firmly in the “sounds clever… but does it really work?” category. Clip-on devices that promise improved comfort, lower flow temperatures and even energy savings naturally raise eyebrows, especially among heat pump owners who’ve already been told that design, not gadgets, is what really matters.

For homes running traditional boilers at high flow temperatures, radiator fans are relatively straightforward. Hot radiators generate strong natural convection, and adding forced airflow simply speeds up heat delivery and improves distribution. There’s no mystery there… and no controversy either.

Heat pumps, however, change the equation.

Low flow temperatures mean weaker natural convection. Radiators still emit heat, but more slowly, and often less evenly. This is where radiator fans start to make sense, not as miracle devices, but as tools that can help move heat into the room more effectively during warm-up, particularly in borderline or challenging spaces.
