With more than 350 air source heat pump installations under their belt and a sharp focus on quality, Elite Services Group has quietly established itself as a leading installer in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The company’s portfolio spans everything from small domestic retrofits to complex multi-property systems, and its growth has been grounded in a clear principle: do the job right, the first time.
Founded and led by four equal partners (James and Ben Clark, James Procter and Tom Foster) Elite has held its own MCS certification for over eight years and is a long-standing member of RECC and NICEIC. This strong foundation of compliance is matched by a reputation for precision and reliability on the ground. “We’re all engineers by trade,” says Ben Clark. “There’s no sales fluff… just technical experience and a commitment to doing solid, honest work.”
The company specialises in air source heat pump systems and typically installs between 70 to 90 units annually, a number that has grown steadily in recent years. While most projects are retrofit installations, Elite is well-versed in working on new builds and listed buildings, where heritage and efficiency need to coexist.
Elite’s preferred manufacturers include Daikin, Vaillant and Ideal, chosen, they say, for their reliability, manufacturer support and reasonable lead times. But product choice is just one part of the equation. Elite’s emphasis is on designing systems that match the unique needs of the property and homeowner.
“It all starts with listening,” says James Procter. “Understanding the homeowner’s priorities, whether it’s environmental impact, long-term savings or comfort, helps us shape the right system for them.”
The company handles all heat loss calculations and design work in-house, ensuring full control over system specification. Careful site assessments form a key part of the process, with particular attention paid to emitter requirements, aesthetic integration and planning constraints. Unlike some installers, Elite avoids defaulting to buffer tanks in retrofits. “Unless we’re cascading multiple units, we don’t fit buffers,” says James Clark, regular guest on the Homeowners’ Q&A Podcast. “If the pipework’s been done properly, you shouldn’t need one.”
Once installation is complete, each system is flushed and treated to VDI 2035 water quality standards before being signed off and handed over with a full walkthrough for the homeowner. Remote monitoring can also be offered, providing both the installer and the customer with real-time performance tracking and early issue detection.
Ongoing support is a key part of Elite’s offering. The team provides service plans, manages Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) applications on behalf of customers, and remains the first point of contact after installation. “We don’t just hand over a system and disappear,” says Tom Foster. “We’re here to support it and make sure it performs as intended.”

Elite’s engineers are often called back, not because of faults, but to help customers optimise their systems around smart tariffs and time-of-use energy plans. “People are starting to see the value in running their heat pump smartly,” says James Clark. “We’re happy to help them get the most out of it.”
Among Elite’s recent installs, one stands out. A customer had an existing underfloor heating system. Elite designed and built a bespoke plant room and commissioned a system that has been delivering 500% efficiency since it went live. “We’re particularly proud of that one,” says James Procter. “It was technically demanding, but the results speak for themselves.”
Feedback from homeowners underscores Elite’s strengths. One customer, Mark Robbins, summed it up simply: “The design was spot on. The whole house is now lovely and warm, especially the rooms that were always cold before. The lads were incredibly hardworking and did the install in the middle of winter when it was barely above freezing. Nothing was too much trouble.”
Elite’s directors all have heat pumps in their own homes and speak from lived experience when advising customers. “We understand how these systems work from both sides,” says Tom Foster. “We believe in them and we use them ourselves. That’s how you know we stand behind what we install.”
For those considering a heat pump, Elite’s advice is straightforward: take your time, ask for references and vet your installer carefully. “We welcome those questions,” says James Clark. “And we’ll always be happy to put you in touch with previous customers.”
