would go with with my battery and heat pump
I’m getting a heat pump installed soon – now a lot better informed thanks to Mars and the RHH youtube podcasts. Solar seems ideal for covering base load during the day – especially if it’s free! But solar + battery is probably better still.
It would save me money and stop me being so worried about energy bills. It would make me feel a little more self sufficient. It would be my tiny bit towards decarbonisation.
This would help so much from a financial point of view with bills going through the roof and struggling to find a job – would be a great win
my electric bills are going insane would be nice to have a bit of a reprieve
It would ease my worries on energy usage and be beneficial to the planet
Reduced Electricity Bills
Energy Independence
Home Energy Profile Shifts
Environmental Impact
Changes to My Property
We were turned down on the local group buy, so fingers crossed!
Thanks for the opportunity, would be a lifesaver for money-saving and environmental!
My energy bills have increased recently. By generating my own energy I’d be able to ease the financial burden.
These solar panels would save me a fortune on energy costs!
Great start to a green home
It’s the only way I could afford to go green
It has been a constant struggle to pay my bills this would ease the burden of that tremendously
The battery option would be a game changer for us.
Able to stay properly warm in cold weather
yeah
Would be amazing to win, for the longest time ive wanted to be able to afford such a thing!
By winning this it would dramatically change my bills but also I think improve my knowledge of what utilities to use when to make the best of cheap power for recharging a car (not gone eleccy yet!) or the washing machines
Solar panels would provide free electricity on bright or sunny days so help keep bills smaller.
Lessen my energy bill
Use of Solar panels leads to reduced Electricity Bills.
– Solar panels generate free electricity from sunlight, reducing your reliance on the grid.
I would save money and therefore be enthusiastic about being more efficient with my energy usage.
Would be good to save a few quid
This would help financially
Our house is positioned ideally for solar panels. It will aid the environment, ourselves financially and our family who will inherit and keep the house.
Would be a great addition to older solar panels
It would drastically improve my energy performance!
I see why I did a DIY install now. Just looked a City plumbing for current prices a full install kit of 6 panels, inverter, mounts etc is £1019 including vat.
So only £5.2k to install it. Good job they are giving away.
We need a few more panels!
How to maximise the solar gain and usage especially during duller days
I’d just feel so happy that instead of consuming energy, I’d be producing it too! I use a lot of solar power in my garden anyway so having panels on the roof would fit so well!
It wouldn’t change our usage much as we use most electricity during the daytime! Only the TV and a small light from 6pm onwards!
Linked to my ev for free charging using a battery
would be able to export a lot!
Battery option is certainly looking like the way to go!
It would make my bills cheaper!
I have panels and am looking for a battery setup
Perfect heat pump addition
If I was lucky enough to win the solar panel array, it would change how I use energy a very significant way. I would most likely get a suitable residential energy storage system compatible with the solar panel array. I would be so excited to see how that all works out.
If I was lucky enough to win the solar panel array, it would change how I use energy a very significant way. I would most likely get a suitable residential energy storage system compatible with the solar panel array. I would be so excited to see how that all worls out.
Just bought our first (and final) home and we’re now saving up to try and get solar panels done (and a lot of other things!) so winning this would be amazing as it would allow us to focus on getting insulation and heat pumps sorted quicker!
BEING DISABLED SAVING MONEY IN EVERY WAY I CAN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!
I would love the opportunity to save money and contribute to lessening the impact on the environment but money is just so tight, so giving people the opportunity to win this is awesome, thankyou.
I got a couple of quotes for solar panels. several years ago, but the cost of scaffolding was almost as much as the panels themselves, and there’s nothing much that’s special about our house or the roof. That put me off at the time, I’d love solar panels to reduce our electricity bill and do our bit for the environment, but I like to add battery storage and a heat pump as well ideally.
Will go with with my new heat pump
This would be a really great start to a green energy transition for our home- reduced bills an added bonus! It would also be a good nudge towards upgrading to an EV (long-planned but delayed by financial constraints!)
Solar would reduce running costs for our new heat pump, especially during a Scottish summer.
I wouldn’t make hasty decisions from the outset. I’d use the open pulse meter connections on my current meter to log electricity usage also keep a paper log of what is being used when. From there I’d work out an grid-saving strategy e.g. shower / batch cook / vacuum/ boil water at solar peaks. I’d then consider battery packs / Powerwall.
We’d be able to charge the electric car from the panels – free driving!
It would be the natural next step to my decarbonisation journey
With these we’d have less worries about bills and our impact on the environment 🙂 Thankyou for the opportunity!
All about the batteries to pair this with for most effective set up.
It would move a long way to bringing my energy usage to zero carbon. We’re just getting an ASHP so hopefully solar would solve all the summer electricity if we added a battery on too
I need Solar to help off set running costs of my heat pump ( Being install today!).
It would save me money and help out my son in the future.
I’m sucking in as much information as possible, to reduce my monthly bills, Solar, Battery, & Heat pump. But you feel there are a lot of second hand car dealers out there.
This would help massively with my finances.
hoping to keep the house warm during my retirement
Really useful information to have before embarking on the journey.
finally, a warm daytime house! wouldn’t need to wear so many layers of clothers
hoping to avoid having to use the ridiculous air pump systems – I think Solar Cells would allow me to do that!
I would continue to use less energy but shift my usage away from 4-7pm even more
Got to be in it to win it. I’d probably buy an extra battery at the same time, to help with the heat pump demand too.
This would make a big difference in terms of energy costs and would make a heat pump more viable once the gas boiler reaches the end of its lifespan.
How much does an average battery cost for a 6 panel system?
This would be a life saver for me.
I’ve always wanted solar!
With Solar + Battery I would feel protected against rising costs and blackouts, which would safeguard my freezer contents as well.
Hell yeah
It would save money and be green
It would top up my existing panels which I have been looking to do for a long time
It would mean no more worrying about energy bills.
Buying our first house and will be getting a heat pump installed, so solar and a battery would complete the package!
if i had the PV installed my family would be able to live much more comfortably and not being forced to skimp on using energy
this would be great to add to the house, it would hopefully reduce the cost over time and be able to provide sustainable energy
Save me lots of money!!
Would be great to save money and help the environment too
Adding solar would reduce our running costs and make our home greener in the process
This would be so handy. We recently had wiring in the loft in the hope that we could have solar panels one day
It would make getting an EV more attractive
Great giveaway!
we are trying to make more sustainable changes and solar panels to help charge our electric car would be great
I would use solar to charge my EV and perhaps have a home battery installed too
I’ve had my heat pump 3 months and despite being very well prepared, it was not implemented as agreed and the performance is terrible. Thanks to Renewable Heating Hub and Home Assistant, I’m capturing all the pertinent measurements needed to hold the installer and manufacturer to account.
I’m now looking for solar and battery to slash my operating costs, and as if tempting fate, my existing solar inverter packed up and my original installer demands a king’s ransom for a call out to enable a warranty claim. Lots of lessons learned already!
It would hopefully make the grown up kids be a bit more considerate about their usage.
It will reduce my reliance on the grid and as we have a large south facing roof it would be extremely efficient
I would love these panels!
yes it would
It would help save money towards energy bills and I’ve always wanted to try and lessen the impact I have on the environment but not had the funds to do so
If I won this prize, I’ve learned that I can save money by get a smart meter and an “economy 7” contract and using energy during low cost periods, for example I’d do my laundry at night.
More than anything though, I’d be relieved that I’d reduced my carbon footprint significantly
It would bring my electric bill down and allow me to spend more on doing the things I enjoy and build on my savings
It would reduce my energy bill and provide a platform to make later installing a heat pump more viable
Would love to win this to help do my bit for the planet … and to reduce our household bills
Would push me towards dumping gas completely!
It wouldn’t change my use but it would reduce my bills.
We live in a small village which does experience power outages. With our home having a south facing roof it is perfect for solar panels, to help become more self-sufficient and reduce our energy bills. It would also help reduce our impact on the environment and our carbon footprint which is so vitally important. All positives, no negatives, especially with the additional option of having a battery.
If I won the giveaway and had a solar PV installed, it would change my home in the sense I could be more self sufficient and know what energy I may be using. It may mean I limit my energy use also.
If I won the giveaway and had a solar PV installed, it would change my home as I would have something I could rely upon and understand the energy I may be using.
