What does 2022 have in store for heat pumps?

We kick off the new year by speaking to Phil Hurley, chairman of the Heat Pump Association. We ask Phil about the challenges and opportunities facing the heat pump industry in 2022, and he shares his thoughts on rising energy prices and the potential introduction of heat as a service in the UK.

a major obstacle to the correct and optimal application of heat pumps is british standards which allow the mixing and matching of control strategies (on-off vs sensor technology) the latter being the optimal way to run heat pumps.

this is can be expressed as Bundles vs standards, a bundle being controls and heat pumps from one manufacturer. Standards state what has to be installed not how it works…
