1. What information we collect about you and how we use this information

You are responsible for your topics, posts and other information you provide through our services, and you should think carefully about what you make public, especially if it is sensitive information.
You may choose to register connecting your account to accounts on another service (e.g. Facebook login), and that other service may send us information about your account on that service. We use the information we receive to provide you features like cross-posting or cross-service authentication, and to operate our community. We create new account in our community for you based on your third party account information you share.
1.2 Contact Information
We use your contact information, such as your email address, to authenticate your account and keep it - and our services - secure, and to help prevent spam, fraud, and abuse. If you email us, we will keep the content of your message, your email address, and your contact information to respond to your request.
1.3 Private Messages and Non-Public Communications
We provide certain features that let you communicate more privately or control who sees your content. In these cases we will store and process your communications and information related to them. This includes message content, images, information about whom you have communicated with and when to better understand the use of our community, to protect the safety and review the reported messages. We share the content of your Private Messages with the people you’ve sent them to; we do not use them to serve you ads. When you use features like Private Messages to communicate, remember that recipients have their own copy of your communications on Renewable Heating Hub Forums - even if you delete your copy of those messages from your account - which they may duplicate, store, or re-share.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy or controls we may otherwise offer to you, we may preserve, use, or disclose your personal data if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to protect the safety or integrity of our platform, including to help prevent spam, abuse, or malicious actors on our services, or to explain why we have removed content or accounts from our services; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property or the rights or property of those who use our services. 3.1 Accessing or Rectifying Your Personal Data
You have the right to request a copy of your information, to object to our use of your information. If you have registered an account on our community, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, delete, or modify the personal data you provided to us and associated with your account. You can request for downloading your account information, including your created content (posts). You also can request correction, deletion, or modification of your personal data.
Your request and choices may be limited in certain cases: for example, if fulfilling your request would reveal information about another person, or if you ask to delete information which we or your administrator are permitted by law or have compelling legitimate interests to keep. Where you have asked us to share data with third parties, for example, by installing third-party apps, you will need to contact those third-party service providers directly to have your information deleted or otherwise restricted.
3.2 Deletion of Your Personal Data
You can request for your account deletion. This will include personal data, profile data, created content, logs, etc... Cookies should be deleted from your side. Almost all browsers have an option to delete cookies.
Keep in mind that search engines and other third parties may still retain copies of your public information, like your profile information, even after we/you have deleted the information from our community.
3.3 Restrict Processing
3.3.1 Request that we stop using your information: In some cases, you may ask us to stop accessing, storing, using and otherwise processing your information where you believe we don't have the appropriate rights to do so. For example, if you believe a community account was created for you without your permission or you are no longer an active user, you can request that we delete your account (contact us). Where you gave us consent to use your information for a limited purpose, you can contact us to withdraw that consent, but this will not affect any processing that has already taken place at the time. You can also opt-out of our use of your information for marketing purposes by contacting us. When you make such requests, we may need time to investigate and facilitate your request. If there is delay or dispute as to whether we have the right to continue using your information, we will restrict any further use of your information until the request is honored or the dispute is resolved, provided your administrator does not object (where applicable). Data portability is the ability to obtain some of your information in a format you can keep in your devices or share with other communities. Depending on the context, this applies to some of your information, but not to all of your information. Should you request it, we will provide you with an electronic file of your basic account information and the information you create on the spaces you under your sole control, like your topics (only with your posts), your replies in other topics, private messages and conversations (only with your messages), etc...
4. How we store and secure information we collect
We use data hosting service providers to host the information we collect, and we use technical measures to secure your data. While we implement safeguards designed to protect your information, no security system is impenetrable and due to the inherent nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that data, during transmission through the Internet or while stored on our systems or otherwise in our care, is absolutely safe from intrusion by others.
5. Children and Our Community
Our community is not directed to children, and you may not use our services if you are under the age of 16. You must also be old enough to consent to the processing of your personal data in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).
6. Online Privacy Policy Only

While accounts can be removed, Content posted by those accounts will remain on the site, unless they are in contravention of our terms of use.
By accepting the terms you will also abide by the following rules:
When posting you must:
- not submit aggressive, insulating, libellous, antagonistic, racist or otherwise abusive Content about any individual, product or company.
- must not submit swear words or use words in such a way as to circumvent swear word removal systems. This may lead to warnings and users being banned.
- must not submit any images or text which are in any way inappropriate, pornographic, offensive or violent.
- must not promote websites which contain inappropriate material (such as pornography) or which are in competition with Renewable Heating Hub.
- must not submit promotional information about any illegal activities (such as piracy).
- must not submit any spam. People posting spam will be instantly and permanently banned, and their posts will be deleted.
- members who own, operate, represent or who are affiliated with a commercial enterprise or competing website must not submit messages which reference that organisation in any way unless they are advertisers on Renewable Heating Hub. This includes promotion of and providing support for that organisation. More details on this point are provided below under the heading Self promotion & advertising.
- must not create new threads in more than one forum. Doing so is called cross-posting and this is not permitted. You should pick the single most appropriate forum for your message. Duplicate posts will be deleted.
- must not use URL shorteners. Shortened URLs are not permitted because it does not allow moderators to easily check that posted URLs are appropriate. Shortened URLs will be deleted and posts may be deleted.
- must not abuse the post ratings system in any way.
- must not question the judgments or actions of forum moderators or administrators. They are far too busy to enter into discussions or arguments.
When creating an account you must:
- not have avatars or signatures which contain the branding, names, details or contact information for any commercial enterprise, represent or are affiliated with, or any website competing with Renewable Heating Hub unless they are an advertiser and are posting in a professional capacity.
- must not have an inappropriate login name. We do not permit a login name which breaks any of the rules or which references a business, service or product unless the account belongs to an advertiser. For example, if you are John Smith and work for a company called Acme Heating Limited, you may register your account with the username John Smith. If you are self employed and your name is Peter Jones, and your company name is Peter Jones, you may register with the username Peter Jones, but you should not actively promote your services or products that constitute the nature of your business.
- must not register more than once. Doing so may get one or both registrations and all the posts deleted.
- must not re-register once banned. A ban from Renewable Heating Hub means you are no longer welcome to use our website ever again. Re-registering will lead to a permanent ban of the new account and a complaint will be sent to your Internet service provider (ISP).
- must not use animated avatars. Since avatars are displayed very often in the forums, a constant animation will likely be distracting/irritating. Any such avatars will be deleted.
We find that the vast majority of forum members have no problem with the above rules. However, if any of them are broken, then moderators will take appropriate action to ensure the forums remain a pleasant place to visit.
Reliance on posted information
While we aim to provide accurate information on our site, commentary and other materials posted on our site are not intended to amount to advice on which reliance should be placed. We therefore disclaim all liability and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by any visitor to our site, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents. If in doubt, please contact a certified professional to verify and approve any work before you proceed.
Disputes with moderators
If any forum member feels they would like to dispute a moderator's decision, first contact the moderator who made the decision at issue, or another moderator within that forum if the original moderator is unavailable. Politely explain why you disagree and request that they review their decision. If after their review, you are still unhappy, and the issue is important, you may escalate the issue by filling in the Contact Us page.
Rules for trading
No trading is permitted on Renewable Heating Hub. This may change in the future, but you may not sell or buy products or services on this site. Any such attempts will result in warnings and potential bans.
Self promotion & advertising
Members who own, operate, represent or who are affiliated with a commercial enterprise or competing website may not submit messages which reference that organisation in any way unless they are advertisers on Renewable Heating Hub. This includes promotion of and providing support for that organisation. Members representing companies may, however, answer specific questions that assist other users with issues or problems that they have encountered.
If we were to allow organisations, employees and self employed members to promote their businesses across the forums without any limitations, we would have many posts from manufacturers advertising their products and retailers selling their wares. This would detract from the usefulness of the website, annoy readers and undermine the key purpose of this website.
It may be tempting to some individuals representing companies to covertly invite business by pretending to be, for example, a 'satisfied customer'. This is very unwise, since if such dishonesty is discovered (either by members or moderators), and publicly exposed (as it often is), it could embarrass or even tarnish the reputation of the company in question.
Right of reply
Organisations have a right to reply to criticism on Renewable Heating Hub, but they must do this without making any self promotion.
