@chandykris Indeed, the elevated temperature does attenuate output from the panels quite significantly - in fact, you might say: Hot weather, they don’t like it up ‘em! Regrets, Toodles.

@trebor12345oodles Greetings! We have been hit by a failure, one of our strings went down mid-June and thus we are loosing the highest yield months….the installer was practically a middleman using subcos, the subcos have dispersed meaning it will be a while before operation is fully restored.

Luckily we still have some 8Mwh reserve already with the DNO and this should get us through next winter unscathed.

How are you guys faring with the heat? We are reading some horror stories in the news (though mainly for continental Europe).

You weren’t alone, we were considerably down on last month and last year. But now that flux is back the revenue is worthwhile again, so I’m a happy bunny.

Our June 2026 generation is down too. We generated about 630 kWh when compared to 690 kWh last year. This June is almost the same as 2024 June though. Last year was great for solar overall. Interestingly, the heat wave hasn't been helpful and seems to throttle electricity generation down when it's very hot.

Greetings my fellow heatwave sufferers! Over here, we navigated May unscathed and we are bracing for June.

I wonder if I will live to see window shutters becoming the norm in the UK as they are in South Europe. Sooner than that I expect Mars and the users of the forum to open topics on using the cooling capabilities of the ASHPs. Till then and speaking from first hand experience, plain fans can be real relief.

Below is our May output. You can see that this year we had more overcast days in May. 1st of May in particular was like November…

Here’s me. Found my output when I control the battery and export is slightly better than when IOF controls the export. Seems AI isn’t as smart as everyone says. Although my export was up 10% my income was down about 50% thanks to IOF still being unavailable, going to be touch and go whether I get zero power bills this year.

Had a trustmark audit too, they came up with a massive list of errors and omissions, including a main roof SWIP room in roof which is about £8k worth of work. All done at the installers cost, that should decrease my heat loss significantly this coming year. That’s a Brucie Bonus as I should be able to reduce my flow temp.

@papahuhu Now May is out, I venture to cast a clout: Here are the solar yields for the last four Mays:

May ‘26 was not quite up to ‘25 and I put this down to the heat wave days causing a reduction in yield. The ‘24 yield is lower due to the installer having to return to correct the mountings of some micro inverters which necessitated the erection of scaffolding along with safety boards that caused some shading for about a month. @toodles Im trying me best to ignore orangeman, I figure that is the most constructive and effective resistance. I had another look at one for the garden, even a 1kW unit at 10m would be a help. I spoke to planning last week but they told me once you have a heat pump even the smallest wind turbine requires planning approval. The irony is that the heat pump is the reason I need a wind turbine.
