@morgan I’m not experiencing any significant delays or slowness. Please elaborate.
The site loads slower on my iPad using Safari, but is a lot quicker using Chrome, Firefox and even Opera.

I use Safari on iPad but Firefox on the desktop PC. WiFi on iPad, Ethernet on PC.
This site has always been slow for me, but getting worse even though I now have super-fast Starlink BB. No other sites I visit display the same issue.
Retrofitted 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan to new radiators commissioned November 2021.
14 x 500w Monocrystalline solar panels.
2 ESS Smile G3 10.1 batteries.
ESS Smile G3 5kw inverter.
@morgan how long does a page take to load, roughly?

Posted by: @editor@andrewj, in response to your query above, the cookie consent system is part of Google’s compliance with EU privacy regulations, and unfortunately, we have no control over the formatting or how it’s presented (including the “Vendor Preferences” section and how Legitimate Interest is managed). It’s a Google-provided mechanism that’s designed to cover thousands of advertisers, hence the overwhelming and often confusing interface.
I agree it’s far from user-friendly. To answer your specific question: I think that if you untick consent but leave “Legitimate Interest” ticked, it essentially means that certain vendors can still process your data based on what they deem to be a “legitimate business interest”, even if you haven’t explicitly consented. Whether that’s appropriate is debatable, but it is permitted under GDPR in certain contexts.
That said, I think that if you go into “Vendor Preferences” and actively disable both Consent and Legitimate Interest for individual vendors, that should completely stop them from collecting and using your data.
Not sure if that helps you at all.
Thanks for the info: the fact that Legitimate Interest allows for data processing even when Consent is unchecked was what I was interested in knowing. The way Google do this, by presenting a handful of options on the first dialog and then hiding away dozens and dozens behind an obscure link is sneaky and annoying (and of course they can’t possibly provide an object all button that unticks everything…)

I have noticed the same. I typically use Safari on MacOS.
I've made some tweaks, and my response and load times have improved. Please let me know if it's had any impact on your speeds.

I get a 3-5 second delay before anything appears to happen, but then the page loads very quickly. The initial delay seems quite consistent and makes the site 'feel' slow.
Samsung 12kW gen6 ASHP with 50L volumiser and all new large radiators. 7.2kWp solar (south facing), Tesla PW3 (13.5kW)
Solar generation completely offsets ASHP usage annually. We no longer burn ~1600L of kerosene annually.
@old_scientist I'll see if I can continue to tweak things... is that across the site or just the forums?

Seems uniform across the site. The initial response is a little quicker now than when I posted earlier - still a delay, but only 1-2 seconds. Pages are very quick to load after that initial delay though.

FWIW I see the same, noticeable delay then quick load. Particularly obvious on a mobile (running DuckDuckGo)
4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.
Thanks for the updates... I've cranked up more server resources for the site, so we'll hopefully see a further performance increase. Please keep the feedback coming, especially if you use different browsers.

Seems a little quicker now - the initial delay feels shorter and a lot less noticeable.
