Irrespective of which brand you have, the circulation pump running constantly when heating is off is not normal. It shouldn’t stay on in standby and that’s not an intentional “anti-clog feature”.

A few questions: 

  • If you turn the controller to “off” (not standby) does the circulation pump still remain on?
  • When the unit is in standby, what does Husdata show for the heating circuit pump status?
  • Is this the original pump inside the heat pump unit, or has an extra one been added? I’m assuming there’s a buffer tank.

I have gone on a big learning curve to optimise usage. Including managing the temperature, enabling wi-fi (using husdata), managing the hot water. That has brought bills down a lot. But the radiator pump is constantly on (even when heating is off) and I’m not sure why. Is this to make sure pipes don’t clog up? Or is this something I can/should turn off? Many thanks
